Michael Chandler is one of the most prominent figures in UFC today. He competes in the lightweight division and is ranked 7th. He is known for his explosive fighting style and his wrestling pedigree. Prior to joining the UFC in 2021, Chandler was a three-time Bellator Lightweight champion amassing a record of 18-5. Since debuting in the UFC with a first-round knockout of Dan Hooker, he’s gone 2-4 so far.

He’s faced some of the toughest and top-tier competition which includes names such as Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and Tony Ferguson. So far he is 23-9-0 in his MMA career and will now face Paddy Pimblett in UFC 314.

On the other hand, Paddy Pimblett aka The Baddy, is a rising star in the UFC lightweight division. His record currently stands at 22-3-0 and is currently ranked 12th in his division. Known for his brash personality, Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett has a huge fanbase who are as loud as he is.

He is a brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and has taken out 10 of his 22 opponents via submission. He signed with the UFC in 2021 and his biggest achievement so far was when he took down Tony Ferguson at UFC 296 via unanimous decision.

Michael Chandler will face Paddy Pimblett in a lightweight bout at UFC 314, Dana White announced.

Michael Chandler posted a video of Instagram where he was seen wearing a bleach blonde wig imitating The Baddy and also mimicking Paddy Pimblett’s fighting style and movement. It is a hilarious video and even Paddy seems to have taken it in good sport. The video was captioned “In camp #UFC314- Walk on- See you at the Top!” to which Pimblett commented “Yes Mike love this lad. See you at the top brother.”

It is refreshing to see the two fighters, who are about to square off, respect each other and have a little fun. Usually that is not the case as most fighters who are about to fight, want to tear the limbs off each other. The two fighters, Pimblett and Chandler, will fight on Sun, April 13th, 2025 at Kaseya Center, Miami, at UFC 314.
