A total of four teams from the First Four will advance to the next stage of the tournament.
The 2025 season of the March Madness is going on in full swing. After first two matches of the First Four, action moved to Wednesday, where four other teams locked horns against each other to book a First Round spot.
We now have four winners, who have earned their spot against the better-ranked teams of the tournament. As Mount St Mary’s clashed against American and Xavier were up against Texas on the second day, let us see which team earned its rightful spot in the advanced stage of the tournament.
Jeddy Cordilla and Dola Adebavo finished with 22 points, each to help the Mount St Mary Mountaineers take down the American Eagles 83-72 in the first four of the March Madness 2025. With the win, the Mary’s advanced to the first round, where they will clash against the second overall and the East Region No. 1 seeds, the Duke on March 21 at Raleigh, North Carolina.
Dallas Hobbs came up with 17 points, three rebounds and two assists, while Arlandus Keyes finished the night with 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Geoff Sprouse led the Americans with 18 points and two assists. They had lost their leading scorer Matt Rogers with a knee injury four minutes into the game. While the youngster tried to play through the pain, he was taken off the court with 5:28 remaining. Elijah Stephens scored 12 points, three rebounds and five assists. Three players, Greg Jones, Colin Smalls and Matt Mayock finished with nine points each.

Marcus Foster led Xavier with 22 points, eight rebounds and two assists to guide the side to a come-from-behind victory against Texas 86-80 in the final match of the First Four. Zach Freemantle finished with 15 points, two rebounds and two assists. Ryan Conwell and Dailyn Swain finished with identical 11 points, each.
Tre Johnson had 23 points, six rebounds and two assists while Tramon Mark scored 16 points, four rebounds and five assists. Kadlin Shedrick had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Longhorns, who were leading the first half 47-39.
The Musketeers will now be up against the No. 6 seeded Illinois on the second day of the First Round fixtures.
