Calle Jarnkrok’s return to the Maple Leafs is delayed as he continues to recover from a lower-body injury sustained in training camp.
It will take some time before Calle Jarnkrok returns to the Toronto Maple Leafs roster.
The forward has been coping with a lower-body injury since training camp and started the season on Toronto’s long-term injured reserve list. He has practiced on the ice before the Maple Leafs’ morning skates on Tuesday and Friday; however, the team states that Jarnkrok is not nearing a comeback.
“It’s a tough one, Right now, I can’t give you a timeline on him. But, he’s probably a ways away still.” : Craig Berube said on Saturday morning.
The Maple Leafs have disclosed little regarding the injury, other than it being in the lower body. As reported by Kevin McGran of The Toronto Star, Jarnkrok is suffering from a sports hernia. The experienced forward can come back at any time since he has completed the necessary 10 games and 24 days on LTIR.

Toronto currently has 23 players on their active roster, and when Jarnkrok is considered healthy, they will have to eliminate a player to make space for the forward. That is unless additional injuries accumulate within the team.
Last season, Calle Jarnkrok recorded 10 goals and 11 assists for a total of 21 points in 52 games with the Maple Leafs, while fulfilling a bottom-six role. Since arriving in Toronto, he has recorded 30 goals and 30 assists across 125 games.
In 18 postseason matches with Toronto, Jarnkrok has scored one goal and provided two assists while averaging 14:15 of ice time.
