Major Venue Shake Up For Noche UFC As Mexico Plans Fall Through

Noche UFC, also known as UFC 320 gets massive venue and location change as Guadalajara Arena under construction!

Mexican fight fans have been waiting for the UFC to bring its biggest events south of the border. The promotion has teased Mexico plenty of times, hosting smaller Fight Night cards in Mexico City here and there. But a true pay-per-view spectacle featuring top-tier fighters? That dream has remained just out of reach. The Noche UFC celebration, which honors Mexican Independence Day each September, seemed like the perfect vehicle to finally deliver that promise.

The whole concept started as a love letter to Mexican fight culture. UFC’s first two Noche events happened in Las Vegas, where massive Mexican-American crowds turned T-Mobile Arena into a sea of green, white, and red. Last year’s UFC 306 at the Sphere was an absolute masterpiece. It was a $20 million production that combined cutting-edge technology with traditional Mexican artistry. The event proved that Mexican fight fans deserved something special, something bigger than the usual Vegas treatment. But now, for the upcoming event in Guadalajara, there have been some problems.

Noche UFC Gets A Change In Venue

The UFC announced recently that construction delays at the Guadalajara arena have forced a move to Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, on the same date. This news hit Mexican fight fans hard. The brand-new Arena Guadalajara, with its 22,000-seat capacity, was supposed to be the crown jewel venue that finally brought elite UFC action to Mexican soil. But sometimes construction timelines have other plans.

The timing couldn’t be more frustrating. Arena Guadalajara represents everything Mexican fight fans have wanted. This was a state-of-the-art facility built specifically for major combat sports events. The venue was designed to rival any arena in North America, complete with modern amenities and perfect sightlines for MMA action. Now those new seats will sit empty on September 13th while Texas gets another UFC event instead.

San Antonio isn’t exactly foreign territory for the UFC though. The Frost Bank Center has hosted the promotion three times before, most recently for UFC on ESPN 43 in 2023. The venue knows how to handle big fight crowds, and Texas always brings energy for combat sports. But it’s not quite the same as finally breaking through in Mexico.

This venue change represents more than just logistical shuffling. The country has produced legendary fighters like Brandon Moreno, Yair Rodriguez and Alexa Grasso, yet hosting a pay-per-view event has remained elusive. The promotion has promised that 2026 will finally be the year. Once Arena Guadalajara completes construction, Noche UFC will finally find its proper home!
