No. 6 seed Madison Keys pipped Germany’s Eva Lys in the Round of 64, before easing past Aoi Ito in straight sets. The American won back-to-back titles to start the year, including the Australian Open major. As a result, she earned a maiden Top-5 entry at the beginning of the year before dropping just outside. Keys has posted a record of 20-3 on hard courts this year, and 37-11 overall. She is aiming to reach her first final since the success in Melbourne Park.

Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina won her solitary 2025 championship at the Internationaux de Strasbourg. She has a 79% service game win rate on this surface – accounting for a powerful serve plus one approach. The former World No. 3 reached the semis in Montreal last week, losing a heartbreaking third set tiebreak to eventual winner Victoria Mboko. Apart from this, the 26-year-old also reached the final four in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Washington. Rybakina lost in Round-2 at Cincinnati last year.

“In the first set I struggled a lot. I think I never did so many double faults. Something for me to learn. Happy in the end I managed to find my game. Thank you so much guys for staying so late.” ❤️

In terms of a match-up, this is among the most evenly balanced duels on the WTA circuit. At the Australian Open earlier this year, it was Keys who served better in the crucial juncture of the match; meanwhile, Rybakina capitulated under pressure. However, the Kazakh has found the required consistency on her groundstrokes, and is arguably moving a tad bit better than her 30-year-old counterpart on court. The player who can execute more low percentage shots will emerge victorious.
Prediction: Elena Rybakina in three sets.
Rybakina has the betting market tilted slightly in her favour ahead of the clash against Keys. According to the implied probability on the money line, Rybakina is the favourite with a 60% chance against underdog Keys. Here’s all you need to know before placing your bets (as per BetMGM):
