Lewis Hamilton is in the spotlight once again for his heated radio exchange.
Lewis Hamilton’s frustration in the 2025 season knows no bounds. He has settle for a new environment and adapt himself according to a new car. Lewis Hamilton has not been particularly impressive with Ferrari in the first few races of the season. The pace that the Prancing Horses are delivering are much slower compared to the top contenders. Every move that the former world champion makes is being scrutinized.
The Miami Grand Prix was no different for the seven-time champion. Lewis Hamilton had a very positive race in the Sprint event on Saturday. However, he could not convert his momentary pace into an advantage for the race. Hamilton finished third in the Miami Grand Prix sprint. Although, his race was a disaster once again.

To make matters worse, the tensions rose up slightly in the Ferrari camp between their two drivers. Ferrari are trying to salvage for maximum points but they aren’t getting any better. They had to make a strategy call in Miami GP in order to try and overtake the driver in front. Although, it was unsuccessful and they could only bring mediocre results.
Lewis Hamilton’s radio messages with Ferrari are in the spotlight. He was previously questioned for his radio to his race engineer. Hamilton defended himself mentioning the fact that his radio message was completely respectful and away from profanities. This time around, Hamilton did not hold back one bit over the radio. During the later stages of the Miami Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton did not get the swap he needed to overtake Kimi Antonelli in front. His teammate, Charles Leclerc was running on a different strategy.

However, Ferrari took a considerable amount of time in order to bring his plans to fruition. Hamilton’s message to the team on his radio was full of disappointment and sarcasm. In his post-race interview he explained the situation-
“I lost a lot of time behind Charles and in that moment for sure I was like, come on let’s make a concise decision really quick, let’s not waste time. I’m sure people didn’t like certain comments but you’ve got to understand it was frustrating, people say way worse things than what I say. It was more sarcastic than anything and I’m not frustrated now. We’ll work internally, we’ll have discussions and we’ll keep pushing.”
Lewis Hamilton could not complete the overtake on Kimi Antonelli in front and was left in his original position after Charles Leclerc swapped back. It seems that Ferrari’s lacklustre performance is starting to affect its drivers and team dynamics. Lewis Hamilton was the priority driver at Mercedes. But at Ferrari, he has to follow the team’s protocols.
I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university's Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
