Miami Grand Prix Results: McLarens Terrorize the Grid as Oscar Piastri Claims Hat-trick of Wins with Lando Norris and Russell on Podium!

The Miami Grand Prix results are out after a long yet exciting race. The sprint weekend of Miami was promising a lot of action considering the antics of drivers since Friday. The weekend had it all. From Kimi Antonelli’s first pole position to in-team struggles, the Miami GP weekend managed to bring forth the best out of every driver. The race had some hints of rain but precipitation could not bring forth any noticeable troubles for the drivers. The weekend was particularly frustrating for the defending champion.

Miami Grand Prix results have reestablished the most important rule of Formula 1. The dominant car shall rule the grid, no matter where they start from. In 2022 and 2023 it was Red Bull Racing and in 2025, McLaren are the ones setting the benchmarks. However, compared to Red Bull Racing, McLaren have a much stronger driver pairing at their disposal.

The Miami GP was a 57 lap event that took place on May 4, 2025. The race was marred by retirements and virtual safety cars throughout the session. Let’s take a look at the Miami GP 2025 Results.

Miami Grand Prix Results- An Interesting Combination of the Drivers in Top-10

The top-10 drivers from the Miami Grand Prix are as follows-

  3. George Russell
  4. Max Verstappen
  5. Alex Albon
  6. Kimi Antonelli
  7. Charles Leclerc
  8. Lewis Hamilton
  9. Carlos Sainz
  10. Yuki Tsunoda

Oscar Piastri is becoming one of the fastest and insanely talented drivers of the 2025 Formula 1 grid. The Aussie has been on a roll this year since the start of the season. He has already won four races and is leading the championship. Piastri made hardly any mistakes as he glided through the cars in front to take the lead of the race. He even forced Max Verstappen to commit a mistake while battling for the race victory. Piastri’s technique was later utilized by Lando Norris against Max Verstappen.

Lando Norris could not improve his finish. He finished the race where he started on the grid. Lando initially faced difficulties while battling Verstappen. Although after his team helped him utilize Piastri’s strategy against Max, Lando easily passed the four-time champion. Lando Norris was using his pace effectively throughout the race. In the closing moments of the Miami Grand Prix he was readily closing the gap against his teammate. Norris was followed by George Russell. Russell was far away from the race leaders with a gap of 30s when he finished in third position. But, he managed to navigate his way through the field gaining yet another podium for the Silver Arrows.

Disappointments and Rejoice Outside the Podium

Max Verstappen had a disastrous race this weekend. He was optimistic after claiming pole position but he was bullied and forced into fourth position by the McLarens. This is the second weekend in 2025 that McLaren has snatched away victory from Max. Alex Albon repeated his miracle finish from the Australian Grand Prix. This time, he did it with much more confidence. Williams are getting faster every weekend and Albon will come out as their best for a podium which seems far from reach for now.

Kimi Antonelli has yet to learn how to defend against the veterans but he is showing a promising start for a driver of his age. The Ferraris meanwhile had troubles of their own including potential disagreements between the drivers. Once again, Lewis Hamilton was fast in sprint race but unable to race effectively during the longer run. Carlos Sainz completed yet another double points finish for Williams followed by Yuki Tsunoda. Tsunoda helped him team secure some points during a disappointing weekend.

Miami Grand Prix Results- How Did the Remaining Drivers Fare at the 305?

Isack Hajdar narrowly missed out on points finishing in 11th. Things weren’t as optimistic for his teammate however, Lawson collided himself out of the race with Jack Doohan. Esteban Ocon too could not secure Haas points this weekend after being overtaken by much faster drivers. He was followed by Pierre Gasly and Nico Hulkenberg. The Aston Martins finished last in the race. Oliver Bearman and Gabriel Bortoleto were unable to finish the race due to issues in their cars.

The performance drop in the back of the grid has been worrying. Williams and Haas are the only consistent midfield cars during the early the stages of the season. Kick Sauber is straight up the worst car on the grid. Alpines have not managed to find their rhythm yet. Meanwhile, Aston Martin is struggling from lack of pace whenever their drivers need it from the car.

The Miami Grand Prix had a variety of situations throughout the race. Overall, the race weekend had all the drama to keep Formula 1 fans engaged. It helps their reputation and possible justifies the 15 year long contract they have been bestowed by Formula 1.
