Las Vegas Aces vs Indiana Fever WNBA Semi-Finals Game 1 Preview, Prediction, and Betting Odds- 09/21/2025

Garima Ranawat

In the second 2025 WNBA semi-finals, the Las Vegas Aces will be up against the Indiana Fever. The opening game is set for Sunday, September 21, at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. The No. 2 seeded Aces finished the season strongly and entered the playoffs on a 16 game-winning streak. They recorded a 2-1 series win over the Seattle Storm in the opening round and booked their seventh consecutive semifinals berth.

The Indiana Fever, on the other hand, were struggling till the very end of the regular season. Despite being one of the least favorites to move ahead and injury struggles of multiple stars, Stephanie White’s team managed to finish above the Storm and Golden State Valkyries. In the opening round, they stunned the Atlanta Dream with a 2-1 win and made it to the semifinals for the first time in a decade.

The upcoming series features star power, featuring A’ja Wilson’s dominance against Kelsey Mitchell’s playmaking for the Fever.

Las Vegas Aces vs Indiana Fever Lineups, News, Form

Las Vegas Aces

The Las Vegas Aces finished the regular season with a 30-14 record, securing the second seed in the standings. They averaged 83.6 points per game (sixth in standings), while holding opponents to 80.7 points per game (seventh in standings). The Aces are fourth in terms of offensive rating with 105.9 and eighth in terms of defensive training at 101.9. They were shooting 43.9% from the field and 35.1% from beyond the arc.

The Aces’ home-court advantage and ability to perform under pressure position them as favorites to chase a third championship in four years.

Here are a few stats and facts about the Aces-

  • A’ja Wilson’s 38 points against the Storm in Game 3 is the second-most points in a WNBA playoffs elimination game.
  • Wilson led the WNBA 2025 regular season across multiple categories including points per game, rebounds per game, blocks per game, as well as steals per game.
  • Chelsea Gray, who leads the Aces in assists with an average of 5.4 apg, crossed the 10-assists mark on four occasions in the regular season.

Aces Expected Lineup

A’ja Wilson, Kierstan Bell, NaLyssa Smith, Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young
Key Bench Players: Jewell Loyd, Dana Evans
Injuries: None.

Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever finished the regular season with a 24-20 record, earning the third seed in the Eastern Conference. While they were hopeful to have a better campaign than the past season, season-ending injuries to key players including Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, and Aari McDonald, almost ruined their plans. However, they showed resilience and not only finished sixth, but also edged out Atlanta Dream 2-1 in the first round.

The contributions from their core including Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston helped the Fever edge out the Atlanta Dream and mark a turnaround from early-season struggles. They have improved drastically, and after the first-round series, they pose an upset threat over the Aces.

Here are a few facts about the Fever:

  • Indiana was the third-highest scorer in the regular season with an average of 84.9 points per game.
  • They shot 45.6% from the field, 34.6% from the three-point range, and 77.0% from the free-throw line.
  • Indiana Fever were third in terms of offensive rating at 106.2 and seventh in terms of defensive rating at 101.8.

Fever Expected Lineup

Lexie Hull, Natasha Howard, Aliyah Boston, Odyssey Sims, Kelsey Mitchell
Key Bench Players: Makayla Timpson, Shey Peddy
Injuries: Damiris Dantas- OUT (Concussion Protocol)

Season ending injuries for

  • Caitlin Clark
  • Chloe Bibby
  • Sophie Cunningham
  • Sydney Colson
  • Aari McDonald

Las Vegas Aces vs Indiana Fever WNBA Semi-Finals Game 1 Total Over/Under Prediction- WNBA Best Bets

The Las Vegas Aces, powered by A’ja Wilson’s brilliant prowess, enter the series as clear favorites. They are chasing their third WNBA title in the last four years, and are very much likely to reach the Finals to lock horns with the winners of the Minnesota Lynx-Phoenix Mercury semi-final series. As for the upcoming game, the two-time champions are favorite to clinch victory at 9.0 spread and -325 moneyline. It is expected to be a close-contested yet low-scoring affair similar to their past meetings during the regular season.

Here is an overview of my picks:

Las Vegas Aces vs Indiana Fever WNBA Semi-Finals Game 1 Player Props Predictions- WNBA Betting Picks

A’ja Wilson O 25.5 Points- A’ja Wilson is averaging 29.3 points per game during the 2025 WNBA postseason. In the last five games, she has crossed the 20-point mark four times, and considering what is at stake we expect her to drop another vintage performance and finish over.

Kelsey Mitchell O 20.5 Points- Mitchell dropped 23.3 points on an average in the last three playoff games. Considering her last five overall games, she scored almost 19 points or more four times, and she is expected to put up another similar performance.

Jackie Young O 4.5 Assists- Jackie Young averages 4.0 assists per game in the playoffs. In the upcoming game, she is expected to finish above the mark and make full use of the home-court advantage.

A’ja Wilson O 10.5 Rebounds- The MVP frontrunner has averaged 8.7 rebounds per game during the playoffs. In the last five games, she averaged eight rebounds per game. While she would aim for another similar performance and cross the 10-rebound mark, the Fever would restrict her under.

Main Pick: A’ja Wilson O 25.5 Points for -113 at FanDuel

Las Vegas Aces vs Indiana Fever Game 1 Spread Prediction

The Las Vegas Aces locked horns with the Indiana Fever thrice in the recent past regular season. Out of those three clashes, the Fever clinched victory twice while the Aces managed to get on top once. However, if we see the recent form and Aces’ stats, they are favorites to win the forthcoming game. We can expect it to be a thrilling contest considering the Fever’s ‘never-give-up’ attitude, but the Aces would prevail and take a 1-0 lead at home.

Spread/ Moneyline Pick: Aces -9 for -480 at FanDuel
