Know more about what Lando Norris said regarding his performance lapse in 2025!
Lando Norris was the first driver to earn the spotlight of the 2025 season. After Formula 1 resumed racing in 2025, McLaren were the pace setting team. Norris was able to utilise his car’s speed effectively right from the start of the championship. He capitalised on his pole position and won the race at Australia.
Norris led the driver standings for four races until team took the lead. However, there was a key issue in Norris’s performance this season. Unlike 2024, Lando committed way too many mistakes this season. It was highly unlikely for a driver of his caliber.

As a result of his performance lapse, Norris went through severe trolling on social media. The driver recently opened up about his mental health struggles in an exclusive interview with Formula 1. The entire McLaren team is backing Norris with everything they can.
But, things are still difficult for Norris. Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix weekend, Lando Norris is criticising his performance yet again.
On Thursday, Lando Norris appeared for an interview during the media session for the Miami Grand Prix. The Papaya driver was asked about his views on his 2025 season.
Norris looked under confident as he talked about his feelings. The Briton thinks that some small things aren’t working out for him. This means he is not able to extract the maximum potential out of his car.

Norris appreciated his teammate for adapting quickly to the car. However, he said that he had no time to waste on comparing himself with Oscar Piastri. Here’s what Lando Norris had to say about his performance-
“I am not being able to perform at the level I was, at the end of the last season. Which I think is the best level that I’ve been.”
Lando Norris won his first race in Formula 1 at Miami last year. He won three races throughout the season, briefly competing for the driver’s championship title against Verstappen. The current race can be perfect chance for his comeback.

Norris has already won at this track before. He just needs to set his worries aside and drive like the talent he is. Norris has impressive odds for winning the race in 2025. He may be able to triumph over his teammate. The main issue Lando needs to address is his failure to qualify well. His car is fast during the race but to have the best chances of winning, Lando Norris needs pole position.
Last weekend at Jeddah, Norris made an impressive recovery drive. He raced through the grid to secure fourth position in the race. Although, Norris lost the lead to Piastri. He still has enough margin to compete for the title.
I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university's Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
