The Lakers host the Spurs on Monday, March 17.
The Los Angeles Lakers (41-25) are set to lock horns with the San Antonio Spurs (28-38) in a back-to-back on Monday, March 17. After losing four straight games on the road, the Lakers finally recorded their first win as they got the better of the Phoenix Suns 107-96 on Sunday, March 16.
Meanwhile, the Spurs took down the New Orleans Pelicans 119-115 in their previous game. It was their fourth win in the last ten contests.
After recording eight straight wins, the Lakers had a disastrous run, where they lost all their four games on the road. Their superstar LeBron James sustained a groin injury during the Celtics game last week, and has been out of action since then.
Ever since the injury, there have been several updates regarding his comeback. An early update by the Lakers suggested that the 40-year-old will be out for two weeks. Later, NBA insider Shams Charania shared a positive update, indicating his quick return to the court. Moreover, James was also in Sacramento for his son’s state championship finals, which sent a wave of relief among fans.
