LeBron watched son Bryce play for Sierra Canyon against Stockton Lincoln in the state Division I championship game.

The Los Angeles Lakers icon LeBron James, who has been nursing a groin injury, arrived at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento to cheer for his youngest son Bryce James. The 17-year-old was competing in his final high school championship, competing in the CIF State Division 1 final. He was a part of the Sierra Canyon, who lifted the title.

The Canyon won their first title since 2019, as they defeated Lincoln High of Stockton 58-53. The game saw Gavin Hightower finishing with 15 points, while Bryce Cofield came up with 11 points for the Canyon. Bryce James, the son of the LeBron James, finished with three points, five rebounds and two assists.

Following the game, Bryce opened up on seeing his cheering from the sideline and said that his presence helped him get the confidence even though he wasn’t able to make shots.

James Jr. said, “My teammates are my brothers, we are always with each other. Even if we are hard on each other, we always gonna pick each other back up. Just get us back to where we need to be.”

He added, “My dad on the sideline, you know, he’s always coaching me up, telling me what to do. Like, even if how tonight was, I wasn’t making shots, but he helped me. From now on, I’ll always have confidence for myself.”

When Is LeBron James Expected To Return?

LeBron sustained a groin injury in the fourth quarter of Lakers’ 111-101 loss against the Boston Celtics, on March 8. According to Shams Charania, LeBron is expected to miss another week of action which means he will be not available for the Suns game on Sunday, March 16.

The Lakers have been heavily impacted by LeBron’s absence, losing four straight games.

Their recent loss came against the Denver Nuggets 131-126, where the Lakers were without their newest star Luka Doncic as well. Austin Reaves and Dalton Knecht gave a tough fight to the Nuggets with 37 points and 32 points, respectively. However, their effort fell short and they were outscored by Nuggets in the final minutes of the game.
