There is no stopping for LeBron James!

There is no stopping for LeBron ‘King’ James. The Los Angeles Lakers icon once again entered his name into NBA record books as the Lakers clinched their eighth straight win. They took down the New York Knicks 113-109 in overtime at Crypto.com Arena.

During the game, James, who recently recorded 50,000 career points, achieved another NBA feat. The 40-year-old, who entered the game on the back of 1,001 regular season wins, surpassing Tim Duncan as the Lakers got the better of the Knicks. He now holds 1,002 wins.

Not only this, but he is just 13 wins shy from passing Robert Parish to occupy the second spot on the standings. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who recorded 1,074 wins sits atop the all-time list.

Talking about the gameplay, the newest Laker Luka Doncic once again led the team with 32 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists. LeBron James followed him with another stellar performance and finished with 31 points, team-high 12 rebounds and eight assists. The red-hot Luka-LeBron duo became the 2nd pair to each record 30+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists in back-to-back games.

Recently awarded the Western Conference Player of the Month for February, James has been in stellar form despite being in his 22nd season. The 40-year-old, who missed the All-Star Game due to ankle soreness, has been averaging 29 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game since the break.

“There’s no such thing as non-key players on this team”- LeBron James after Lakers’ eighth straight win

LeBron, who has been averaging 24.9 points, 8 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game this season, reflected on the Lakers’ eighth consecutive win. Speaking to the reporters, the 21-time All-Star said that there is nothing as a non-key player in the team, and everyone has a role to play.

“There’s no such thing as non-key players on this team. Everybody is key. Everybody who steps on the floor has a role,” James told the media.

Despite winning back-to-back games, James believes that the team has a scope for improvement. He said, “We gotta continue to put the work in…we have room for improvement; I’m looking forward to seeing what we can become.”

Apart from Luka and LeBron, Gabe Vincent finished with 12 points, one rebound and one assist, while Dalton Knecht had 11 points. On the Knicks’ side, Jalen Brunson finished with 39 points, four rebounds and ten assists. OG Anunoby had 20 points, while Josh Hart and Karl-Anthony Towns had 18 and 12 points, respectively.

Seeded 2nd in the West with a 40-21 tally, the Lakers will now be up against the Celtics on Saturday, March 8.
