The RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia witnessed greatness as two of the all-time greats of WWE, John Cena and AJ Styles delivered a “match of the year” contender. From paying homage to their greatest rivals to getting the Aussies on their feet on multiple occasions.

This match between the ‘Phenomenal’ one and the leader of Cenation had plenty of OMG moments that literally no one saw coming! Both of the WWE superstars went all in and pulled off some spectacular moves from the repertoire of their greatest rivals!

John Cena and AJ Styles are effectively into the last leg of their WWE careers, with 4 fights left for Cena while Styles is set to retire next year. Though Cena earned a hard fought win, there was way more to it than what meets the eye!

Another Day, Another Classic Performance for the One, the Only, John Cena!

The leader of Cenation was in no mood to mess around. He got a huge welcome from the Australian crowd with ‘Thank you Cena’ chants. WWE veteran Cena showed immense respect during the introductions for AJ Styles, acknowledging and showering admiration for his rival.

Both men started landing blows but the crowd had no idea what was in store for them until something unexpected happened. Paying homage to his rival The Miz, Cena delivered a Skull crushing finale! This is where the foundation of one of the greatest matches of 2025 was laid!

Cena, Styles paid homage to Randy Orton, The Undertaker, Chris Jerico, Triple H, Bray Wyatt and more!

After The Miz’s finishing move, there were a series of submission attempts! Cena had Styles first in his signature submission STF, but then Styles turned it around to have Cena in a submission hold!

Next, Cena had him in the ‘Walls of Jericho’ submission, but failed as AJ Styles had it reversed to put Cena in a calf crusher with incredible transition! Cena then locked the STF but his opponent pulled off a Styles clash, only for Cena to kick out!

Cena then Sister Abigail pulled by Cena as he caught AJ mid air in a ‘Phenomenal Forearm’ attempt! This when the Fireflies were out!

Cena tried to pull off a pedigree but was evaded by AJ Styles. Cena then dug in deep in his greatest rival Randy Orton’s repertoire to pull off a DDT, followed by an RKO! Styles gave Cena an AA when he attempted Orton’s knee to the head! A textbook Angel’s Wings was pulled off by Styles, only for Cena to kick out.

Styles returned the favor with Shawn Michaels’ sweet chin music but Cena kicked out.

Both men were barely able to stand but showed immense heart. Cena honored the ‘Phenom’ Undertaker with his signature chokeslam. People chanted 619 and Wade said he would love to see that. Cena obliged with the crowd but AJ Styles stopped it with a close line!

He then delivered a Phenomenal forearm but Cena kicked at 2. Cena threw in an AA in return but Styles kicked out again! Styles’ undoing came when he was caught mid-air by Cena, who pulled off a Tombstone Piledriver to honor the Undertaker, followed by an AA to finish AJ Styles!

Standing ovation from the Australian Crown, Michael Cole and Wade Barrett!

After the match as Styles and Cena embraced each other, the whole RAC Arena was on their feet, acknowledging the greatness they witnessed. Even Michael Cole and Wade Barrett stood up in honor of the two soon-to-retire WWE superstars.

Only 4 dates remain for John Cena’s retirement as AJ Styles is set to retire from the WWE in 2026!
