Ja'Marr Chase dazzled in a thrilling showdown with the Ravens
Ja’Marr Chase lit up the field on Thursday with an electrifying performance, pulling in 11 catches for 264 yards and three touchdowns. His stats for the night were a near replay of another epic game, matching a line he’s hit just once before in Bengals’ history — by none other than Chase himself back in 2022.
In the Bengals’ razor-thin 35-34 loss to the Ravens, Chase set a new NFL mark, becoming the only player in history to log multiple games with over 250 receiving yards and at least two touchdowns. His first breakout game like this was on January 2, 2022, where he set the Bengals’ franchise record with 266 yards on 11 catches and three touchdowns.

This time, Chase was close to surpassing his own franchise record but ultimately ran out of clock. His final yards came on a 5-yard touchdown in the last minute, bringing the Bengals within one point. Unfortunately, a failed two-point conversion left him short of a chance to boost his stats in overtime.
Chase’s touchdowns all landed in the second half, starting with an incredible 67-yard catch-and-run that left the Ravens’ defense in the dust. He followed up with a 70-yard bomb from Joe Burrow, connecting midway through the fourth quarter.
Chase stands among five players in the Super Bowl era to exceed 4,000 receiving yards and 30 receiving touchdowns in their first 50 games. This elite group includes stars like Beckham, Moss, Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, and former Bengals Pro Bowler A.J. Green.
Chase and Rice now share the rare distinction of multiple games with 225 receiving yards and multiple touchdowns.
Cincinnati’s wide receiver also put on a remarkable show against the Ravens on Sunday, even as the Ravens edged out a 41-38 overtime win. Chase scored twice, including a spectacular 70-yard touchdown on the first pass of the fourth quarter, grabbing the spotlight.

Despite the Ravens taking the win 41-38 in overtime, Chase stole the spotlight, scoring twice, including a spectacular 70-yard touchdown on the first pass of a fourth-quarter drive. He officially moved past Hall of Famer Jerry Rice to claim the fifth-most receiving yards in an NFL player’s first 50 games.
This is no small feat, considering Rice remains the all-time leader in career receiving yards with 22,895. Chase now has an impressive 4,210 receiving yards.
Sunday’s game marked Chase’s 50th career appearance, all with the Bengals, where he wrapped up the day with 10 catches, 193 yards, and two touchdowns.
