Jamahal Hill Gives Alex Pereira His Flowers, Praises Poatan for Being a Good Father!

Eric Divakaran

Alex Pereira, arguably the biggest superstar in the UFC, looked like he was unbeatable until Magomed Ankalaev defeated him and made him look like a human again at UFC 313. Poatan was the favorite to win the fight against the Russian and there weren’t many who believed that the Russian could beat him.

However, Ankalaev never let Poatan get comfortable in the Octagon by constantly keeping the pressure on the Brazilian and making him fight off his backfoot.

A Synopsis of the Fight Between Ankalaev and Pereira at UFC 313

We all knew that this fight (Ankalaev vs Pereira at UFC 313) was going to be a tough challenge for Pereira as he had never really fought a skilled grappler like Ankalaev. All the fans and analysts thought that if Ankalaev can make Poatan fight from the ground, the victory would be his. Instead, Ankalaev stayed true to his word by standing up with Poatan and his striking volume with the use of various angles proved too much for Pereira to handle.

Pereira has now lost 2 fights so far in his UFC career and he also ended losing his light heavyweight belt. While many are immediately wondering about a rematch between the two fighters, Jamahal Hill (ranked 4th in light heavyweight division) took a different approach. He chose to stop the clock for a second and give Pereira his flowers instead. So what did Jamahal Hill say about Poatan? Let’s find out.

Hill Sends Pereira a Wholesome Message After His Loss Against Ankalaev at UFC 313

Jamahal Hill had previously fought against Pereira and was knocked out by him at UFC 300. The two had a lot of tension prior to the fight and weren’t on the best of terms exactly. However, it seems like Hill is trying to squash any sort of beef the two fighters had as he gave Poatan his flowers with a wholesome message saying, “The example (Pereira) has set for (his kids) is bigger than any title or fight he has ever won. Respect.”

Hill isn’t exactly a type of fighter who’s known to give respect to his opponents or have friendly relationships with any of them. Only this time, he chose to pay his respects to Pereira and this is what the fans love the most!

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
