Islam Makhachev Reveals To Daniel Cormier The Family Member Who Never Watches His Fights!

Islam Makhachev shared with Daniel Cormier that a specific family member never watches his fights, whether he wins or loses!

Family support often plays a huge role in a person’s journey, especially when they are engaged in a sport of violence. From parents who double as coaches to siblings who serve as training partners, these bonds run deep in combat sports. However, for UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev, one crucial family member experiences his fights in a uniquely different way.

Makhachev’s mother, who has supported his career choice from the beginning, has never actually watched any of his fights live. It’s a heartwarming reminder that behind every fierce warrior in the octagon, there is often a worried parent who finds it too nerve-wracking to watch their child compete.

What Did Islam Makhachev Say About His Mother’s Habit Of Not Watching His Fights

Ahead of his UFC 311 title defense against the #10 ranked Renato Moicano, Islam Makhachev revealed insider info on his home. In an interview with Daniel Cormier, he said that his mother had never ever watched his fight.

“Mom never watch my fights. After even if I win, she never ever watches the fights… She don’t like it. My momma go outside the house and she walk around where i live. And when i win, somebody from other house go crazy and she understand i win. Then she come back ”

Cormier shared his own anecdote. He revealed that his mother used to go but cover her eyes the whole time her son was fighting. These stories add a deeply human element to the sport of fighting. While the fighters are inflicting pain on each other, behind them are countless people who are worried sick for them.

In Islam Makhachev’s case, his mother can’t bear to watch her son compete, even as he dominates the lightweight division and sits atop the pound-for-pound rankings. The story adds to Makhachev’s remarkable journey in the UFC.

While he’s known for his dominant wrestling, improving striking, and seemingly unshakeable composure in the octagon, this glimpse into his family life shows another side of the champion!
