As UFC 311 approaches this weekend at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, two of its most seasoned veterans are set to collide. Renato Moicano and Beneil Dariush, both born in May 1989, are bringing their wealth of experience into what promises to be an explosive matchup. Both fighters have faced the division’s best, earning their stripes through technical brilliance and gritty determination.

At the UFC 311 media day, Moicano kicked things off with his characteristic humor and boldness. He playfully called Dariush, born on May 06, 1989, “old” while seemingly forgetting that he is actually just 15 days younger than his opponent.

“I don’t know why people are calling him old because if they call him old, they’re calling me old because I’m older than him. So don’t call him old. That being said, Saturday, I’m going to beat the sh*t out of the old man. Don’t be mad at me.”

The irony wasn’t lost on anyone in the room, drawing chuckles from the gathered media. Despite the trash talk, Moicano showed respect for Dariush’s abilities. He acknowledged his opponent’s dangerous knockout power and awkward fighting style. He specifically referenced Dariush’s memorable comeback victory against Drakkar Klose, where Dariush turned the tables after nearly being knocked out.

When word of Moicano’s comments reached Dariush, the veteran fighter couldn’t help but respond with his own brand of intensity. His response was short and simple.

“I’m gonna beat the poop out of that guy”

Dariush needs this win against Renato Moicano. He has been on the losing end of his last two fights (against Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan).
