What Jürgen Klopp Said About AS Roma Coaching Rumors in 2025
Jürgen Klopp following his exit from Liverpool last season is on a break from coaching over the past year. Taking over as the Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull in January 2025, the German manager was recently linked to a move to AS Roma.
Denying all these rumours, Klopp has also shut down any possibility of getting back to coaching soon. In his latest interview, the 57-year-old took time to address the rumours to be fake as he discussed his current role and plans in football.

Klopp in his interview was bold to state that no contact or talks have been held of him being the new coach at AS Roma. The German also mentioned that any rumour around him for the next few could not be possibly true as he in his interview said:
“I’m NOT going to become AS Roma’s new head coach. That story is bullshit”.
“If you read any rumours about me taking a coaching job in the next few years it’s bullshit. You can be the first to say it”.
Speaking further in his interview, Klopp also addressed the controversy around Trent Alexander Arnold’s exit from Liverpool. Taking about being disappointed by the fans’ negative reaction to TAA’s final home game, Klopp said: “I’m not saying don’t be disappointed he’s leaving… but don’t forget what he’s done for the club. I heard the booing and switched off my TV. I couldn’t have been more disappointed. This isn’t us”.

AS Roma currently sit at the fifth spot with a game to go in Serie A. Shining early under Claudio Ranieri, the Italian side has dropped points in 18 games this season. They will have to look for other options following Klopp’s denial of rumours if they are to replace Ranieri next season.
After Klopp’s agent came out speaking on rumours, the German himself has addressed the media talks over the last week. Currently focused on his service at Redbull and judging from his comments, it will be a while before we see the former Liverpool manager on the sidelines of the pitch.
