Swiatek looks to extend dominance against battle-tested Krejcikova in Seoul.
Top seed Iga Swiatek will face Barbora Krejcikova in the Korea Open 2025 quarterfinals. Swiatek advanced with a first-round bye and a straight-sets win over Sorana Cirstea, while Krejcikova ousted qualifier Tatiana Prozorova before rallying past eighth seed and wild card Emma Raducanu.
Swiatek has been the tour’s most reliable deep runner this season. She captured her sixth Grand Slam title at Wimbledon in ruthless fashion, dispatching Amanda Anisimova with a rare double bagel. More recently, she lifted her 24th career trophy in Cincinnati with a straight-sets win over Jasmine Paolini. The Pole also reached the final in Bad Homburg, falling to Jessica Pegula, and made semifinal runs at Melbourne, Doha, Indian Wells, Madrid, and Roland Garros. Quarterfinal finishes in Dubai, Miami, Stuttgart, and the US Open further highlight her consistency. Statistically, she’s been dominant with 201 aces, 69.5% of first-serve points won, 47.6% of return points captured, and 51.8% conversion on break points across 66 matches.

Krejcikova enters Seoul after a quarterfinal run at the US Open, where Pegula halted her progress. Still, her season has been uneven. The Czech withdrew from the Australian Open and missed nearly half the year with a back injury. Since returning in May at Strasbourg, she’s had notable quarterfinal appearances in Eastbourne and New York. Her Wimbledon title defense ended in the third round against Emma Navarro, but her numbers remain competitive with 61 aces, 66.6% first-serve points won, 43.1% on return, and 42.5% on break-point opportunities across 19 matches.

Iga Swiatek leads Barbora Krejcikova 3-2 in their head-to-head. Swiatek claimed their first two clashes in 2021 at Miami and Rome, but Krejcikova evened the score with back-to-back wins in Ostrava (2022) and Dubai (2023). The Pole regained the edge at the 2024 WTA Finals, rallying for a comeback victory.
