‘I Would Kick His A**’ – Novak Djokovic Reveals Feelings on Potentially Facing Son Stefan in Dream Match

Sankalp Harikrishnan

Will we ever see Novak vs Stefan in the ‘Battle of the Djokovics’?

He may be a former World No. 1, an Olympic champion and 24-time Grand Slam champion, but beating his own son is a peak that Novak Djokovic is yet to scale. In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, the Serbian phenom revealed that his son Stefan has taken a liking towards tennis. But if the two were to compete in a dream professional encounter on tour, Djokovic is not going to go easy on his young prince.

The quest for a record-shattering 25th major championship currently remains high on Djokovic’s priority list. In 2025, he reached the semifinals of all the Grand Slams, and won two titles in Geneva and Athens. Along with this, the 38-year-old was also the runner-up at the Miami Masters. While there is no doubting the fact that Nole is nearing the final stretch of an illustrious career, another member of the Djokovic family might be emerging on the circuit sooner than one expects.

Novak Djokovic Previews Potential Match-Up With Son Stefan

Stefan Djokovic is a household name due to his appearances on TV screens whenever his father is in action. During the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, the 11-year-old was seen hitting with Italian sensation Flavio Cobolli. He also received autographs from the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz. Having already picked up the tennis racquet, there are chances of young Stefan entering the tennis world – as per Djokovic’s own admissions.

Comparing the scenario to that of Cristiano Ronaldo-Ronaldo Jr. and LeBron James-Bronny James, renowned broadcaster and host Piers Morgan questioned the Djoker about a potential dream face-off against his son in the future. “I mean that’s the dream [playing with Stefan],” Djokovic stated. “That’s a dream, to play doubles with him.

“To play against him? Oh no, I wouldn’t want that. [But if it happened] of course I wouldn’t let him beat me. I would kick his a**.” The remarks arrive a few months after Djokovic hilariously revealed that his son asked for numerous signatures during SW19, except that of his own father. Regardless of whether or not it does happen eventually, it is undoubtedly a mouth watering prospect for fans around the world.
