Draymond Green was a part of the TNT panel ahead of the 2025 All-Star Game.
Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green had a wild revelation to make during the NBA 2025All-Star Game coverage, which actually ended up putting him into the headlines. Though Green wasn’t playing the All-Star Game, he was a part of a few events on Saturday, including the Skills Challenge.
During the Sunday-night All-Star Game, the Warriors’ veteran made a shocking claim about his franchise. Green, who was a part of the TNT panel for the marquee game, said that the franchise has already offered him the role of the head coach once he retires.
The revelation came when he and Candace Parker were discussing their prospects of becoming coaches in the future.
“I’ve already been offered the Golden State Warriors head coaching job when I’m done… I think I could be a good coach. I don’t wanna be, said Green.
Notably, the four-time NBA champion is currently in his 12th season, and is regarded as one of the best defensive players.
On the other hand, the Warriors are being coached by Steve Kerr right now, who has been with at their helm since 2014.
Under his guidance, the Warriors went on to win four titles in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. Not only this, but he was also the coach of the U.S. Olympics gold medal winning team.

Coming back to Green, in the same panel discussion, he also went on to say that now that the Warriors have Jimmy Butler, they are going to win the Championship this year. The four-time NBA All-Star talked about having the former Miami Heat star on their side and claimed that he has brought back their belief of winning.

Green said, “Since [Butler has] been here, we’ve walked into every game thinking and believing that we’re going to win that game. That goes a long way in this league. He’s brought back that belief. And I think we’re going to win the championship.”
The Warriors, seeded on the 10th spot of the Western Conference standings with a 28-27 tally, have won three of four games with Butler in the lineup.
After Draymond Green made an eyebrow-raising claim of being offered the head coach job from his current franchise post retirement, several fans and pundits reacted to it.
Kevin Durant, the Phoenix Suns star, who was a part of the 2025 All-Star Game winning team, also shared a reaction. When Durant was asked about the claims that Green made, he said that Green would be a better head coach than TV analyst.
“I think Draymond would be an incredible head coach. I think he’d be a better head coach than he would be a TV analyst, and he’s pretty good at that,” Durant said.
