Shaq's OGs defeated the Global Stars to win the 2025 All-Stars Game.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend concluded with the Shaq’s OGs winning the All-Star Game and Stephen Curry being named the MVP on Sunday, February 16. This year, the All-Star Game was hosted in a new format, where three teams, selected by NBA analysts, and the winning team of the Rising Stars, clashed against each other in a mini-tournament.
While the organization aimed to increase competitiveness with the change, it seems that idea has failed completely. Fans didn’t shy and expressed disappointment with the format, which reduced game time and more of other things, including commercials, and mid-game breaks.
However, it seems that the NBA’s idea has backfired, considering how fans took to social media to talk about how frustrating it was.

This is the worst presentation of an All-Star game in sports history. We’re breaking in the middle of actual basketball to hand out lifetime achievement awards…. And Silver expects these players to take the game seriously??? #NBAAllStar2025 #NBAAllStar pic.twitter.com/hI39yshE5B

Talking of the 2025 All-Star mini-tournament, Chuck’s Global Stars featuring Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, took down Kenny’s Young Stars 41-32 in the first semi-final of the night.
In the other game, the Shaq’s OGs clashed against Candace’s Rising Stars and booked a finale date with Team Chuck by winning it 42-35.
The OGs continued the winning run and took down the Global Stars 41-32.
While the fans and his teammate Draymond Green seemed to disagree, Stephen Curry had a different opinion. The Golden State Warriors’ star who went on to win his second MVP Award on Sunday, backed the NBA’s decision to change to format.
Curry said that the marquee game needed a fresh change and it was a perfect hit. Curry told Green in a post-match interview, “I really felt like the All-Star Game needed a little fresh look.”
He added that the format can be reassessed and opined that the new change worked perfectly. The 36-year-old added, “You can always reassess, you can always continue to make decisions on what’s in the best interest of the fans. I think it worked out perfectly.”
Notably, Curry scored 12 points, four rebounds and one assist and won his second MVP Award after winning it in 2022.
