The Lakers stunned defending champions Boston Celtics with a blowout 117-96 win. The Lakers, led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, put together one of their best games of the season as they secured their 4th straight home win to move to 24-18, sitting in fifth place in the Western Conference standings.

40-year-old LeBron James contributed with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis continued his great form, putting up 24 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks.

As the game was already in the bag, head coach JJ Redick gave rookie Bronny James few minutes on the court, leading to a loud roar from the home fans. The 20-year-old made an appearance for the third straight game. He played 4 minutes but didn’t register any points, rebounds or assists.

Bronny James turns down opportunity to participate in NBA All-Star Rising Stars game

According to NBA Insider Chris Haynes, Bronny James has declined the invitation to participate in the Rising Stars game.

“Bronny James was extended an invite to be among the G League players to participate in the Rising Stars game, but I’m told that offer was declined.”

Haynes also revealed that Bronny and LeBron were also offered to team up for the Skills Challenge over the weekend, but the duo declined the invitation.

“Sources inform me that LeBron James and Bronny James were sought out by the league with the opportunity to further make history by becoming the first father-son duo to participate in the Skills Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend next month. I was told the invitation was turned down.”

The NBA All-Star Games will take place from Feb 14-16 at Chase Center in San Francisco.
