NBA All-Star 2025: NBA announce list of All-Star starters as LeBron, Curry extend record

NBA's 74th All-Star game will be held on Feb. 14 at Chase Center.

The NBA officially announced the 2024-25 All-Star starters on Thursday night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named an NBA All-Star starter for a second consecutive year. The legendary trio of LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry extended their record in All-Star appearances.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will start in the West backcourt alongside Stephen Curry, who set a record with 11th All-Star appearance, the most in the Warriors franchise history.

Lakers guard, LeBron James extended his record with a 21st consecutive selection. The veteran guard will be the first player to start an All-Star game at 40 years old. He is the third player to make an All-Star appearance at 40, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Dirk Nowitzki.

Kevin Durant also earned a record 15th selection in All-Star. Phoenix Suns legend will be supported by Nikola Jokic in the West frontcourt. The three-time MVP made his seventh NBA All-Star appearance.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was named the NBA Cup MVP last year, earned the ninth All-Star selection. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar comes second in the scoring this season.

Apart from him, Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns made All-Star selections from the New York Knicks, the only team with two starters in NBA All-Star 2024-25. The former will start in the East backcourt alongside Donovan Mitchell, who marked his sixth All-Star selection.

NBA’s 74th All-Star game will be held on Feb. 14 at Chase Center. The league have already pushed for the mini-tournament format for the All-Star event this year, featuring four teams and three games.

The Cavaliers’ head coach Kenny Atkinson has also earned a spot to coach one of the four teams in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. The other two head coaching spots will be filled by the Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault and an assistant coach from his staff.
