The Rockets are marching forward brilliantly
The Rockets come into this game after an agonizing 1-point loss against the Memphis Grizzlies despite a 25-point outburst by Jalen Green. A win in that game would have handed them a 5-game winning streak, but the Rockets must be satisfied with their production as they hold an impressive 11-4 record in January. The Rockets have perfected the art of putting a 1-4 guard lineup which has thrived because of their 5 Alperen Sengun’s terrific back-to-basket and face-up all-around game. Sengun(10.4 RPG) has also propelled them as the best rebounding squad with 48 rebounds per game(14.6 offensive rebounds per game for 1st). The Rockets have a deep squad and a flexible lineup that can adjust to both shoot-outs and slow burners.
The Nets are below par as expected
The Nets enter the affair after a 21-point win against the Charlotte Hornets as Keon Johnson scored 18 points. The win broke a painful 7-game losing streak, but the Nets have a 3-13 record in January. D’Angelo Russell has provided some light but isn’t the answer to fix the tremendous lack of depth in the squad. Cameron Johnson has been stellar but he is likely a trade asset at this point for the team. Cam Thomas was stellar before his injury and not having him has derailed the Nets’ offense completely. At any rate, it wasn’t a secret that the Nets were going to struggle throughout the season.

The Rockets have been in terrific form throughout the season and the Nets are on the opposite end of the spectrum. The Rockets are expected to hold the Nets under 100 points with or without Alperen Sengun. I’d expect the Rockets to go past 120 points, thus, this game can be in 225-235 points.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
