From Jack Draper to Emma Raducanu: Every Singles British Star at Wimbledon 2025

Rudra Dubey

A full breakdown of all British players competing in singles at Wimbledon 2025.

This year’s third Grand Slam, Wimbledon 2025, is buzzing with homegrown talent. A total of 23 British players have made the singles draws across the men’s and women’s fields. And if you count juniors, doubles, and wheelchair entries, that number soars past 50. It’s a home presence not seen in over four decades. The last time Britain had this many players was all the way back in 1984.

A Rare Depth of Direct Entrants and Wildcards

On the basis of world ranking, seven Britons got direct entry into the singles. The rest of the home roster includes 15 wildcard recipients, among them former British No. 1 Dan Evans, 35, and three promising teenagers: Mimi Xu, Hannah Klugman, and Mika Stojsavljevic. And one more qualifier, Oliver Tarvet.

Leading the British charge is Jack Draper, now ranked No. 4 in the world and a title contender, being the highest-seeded Brit at Wimbledon since Andy Murray in 2017. On the women’s side, Emma Raducanu has reclaimed her spot as the top-ranked British woman following an impressive summer swing. She leads the charge ahead of fellow countrywoman Katie Boulter, who remains a strong contender in her own right.

Draper headlines a group of 13 British men in the draw, joined by names like Billy Harris, Jacob Fearnley, and Cameron Norrie. For Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, this Wimbledon marks another chapter in a comeback story the home crowd will be watching closely. Other top British women are Sonay Kartal, Harriet Dart, and Fran Jones.

I’m an academic turned sports writer from Raipur, India, specializing in the NFL, MMA, and tennis at The Playoffs. I previously wrote for Sportskeeda and hold a B.A. and M.A. in History. My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
