French Open Order of Play Day 6 – Important Matches To Watch Out For

Sabalenka, Swiatek, and Alcaraz all in action on day 6!

The French Open begins the third-round play today on day 6 of the prestigious tournament. In action today, we have the number 1 seed from the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka, who will kick things off on court Philippe-Chatrier. 4-time Roland Garros Champion, Iga Swiatek, will also take the court, as well as the number 4 seed Jasmine Paolini.

On the men’s side, world number 2 and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz will be playing his third-round match today, as will the number 8 and number 10 seeds, Lorenzo Musetti and Holger Rune respectively.

The women’s draw was a pretty straightforward affair on day 5 with no major upsets along the way. On the men’s side, however, multiple seeds fell during yesterday’s play, including the biggest one, number 9 seed Alex de Minaur.

Other seeds that exited were number 19 Jakub Mensik, number 22 Ugo Humbert, and the 26th and 27th seeds, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Denis Shapovalov respectively. Veteran Frenchmen Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet were also eliminated, and as a result, Gasquet’s career has come to an end, having already announced his plans to retire after the French Open. With that, let us now take a look at the Roland Garros order of play for day 6.

Order of Play at Court Philippe-Chatrier for Day 6

Starting things off on court Philippe-Chatrier, world number 1 Aryna Sabalenka takes on Olga Danilovic, which will be followed by the men’s 10th seed, Holger Rune, up against Quentin Halys.

The third match of the day will also be the last one for the day session, with the 4th seed Jasmine Paolini taking the court against Yulia Starodubtseva. For the night session, fans can look forward to Carlos Alcaraz captivating them as he faces Damir Dzumhur in his third-round matchup.

Order of Play at Court Suzanne-Lenglen for Day 6

On court Suzanne-Lenglen, there will once again be 4 matches taking place with all of them being day session matches. Men’s number 8 seed Lorenzo Musetti takes the court first against Mariano Navone, followed by Iga Swiatek’s matchup against Jaqueline Cristian.

The third match for the day features two seeds battling it out for a place in the fourth round as Elena Rybakina takes on Jelena Ostapenko. Frences Tiafoe will round off the day’s play against Sebastian Korda.
