“Either You Want To Play or You Don’t” – ESPN Analyst Rips Into Aaron Rodgers for Delay in Free Agency Decision

"Make the decision and live with it" - Adam Schefter's bold statement to Aaron Rodgers!

Aaron Rodgers is a free man for the first time in his career and has a big decision to make on whether or not he will continue to play in the NFL or hang up his cleats for good. If the answer is yes to prolonging his career, the next decision he needs to make is where he wants to play.

Rodgers, who is now 41 years old, does not have much time left as far as his playing days are concerned. He has made all the money in the world so that aspect is not going to keep him up all night. Being one of the greatest quarterbacks in the league and having been able to win just one Championship is holding back his legacy to some extent, and if he wants to give that another shot, then Rodgers will be back for the upcoming season.

However, making this decision should not be so difficult, at least as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter who was recently on air on the ‘Jen, Gabe & Chewy Show’.

What ESPN’s Adam Schefter Had To Say!

During a segment on the show, Schefter was asked about Rodgers and what his chances are of joining the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings is an interesting option as it would be the same path former Packers legend Brett Favre took, and the Super Bowl XXXI-winning quarterback also seems to think it is a good option. However, Schefter, who receives inside news on a regular basis, had the following to say.

“I think Aaron Rodgers right now, the primary options are the Steelers and the Giants, and then does he want to play before we even get to Minnesota. Right, like I think people have come to the conclusion that he wants to play, but to me this shouldn’t be that hard, right…like the Steelers want you…the Giants want you. We’re seeing players across the league make decisions. It shouldn’t be that hard. Either you want to play or you don’t, you want to play in Pittsburgh or you don’t, you want to play in New York. It’s not that hard…make the decision and live with it.”

The way Schefter has voiced his opinion, it seems like there may be more going on between him and Rodgers, although that is information we are not privy to. Regardless of the situation, Rodgers has to take a call on his options sooner rather than later in the interest of everyone directly involved.

What Would the Steelers and Giants Offer?

As per Schefter, Rodgers has been contacted by the Steelers and the Giants and these are his only two options for the moment. With Pittsburgh, the benefit lies in the fact that he will get to play under head coach Mike Tomlin who has never had a losing season in his career.

And while the Steelers defense is quite good, the offense has received a massive boost with the signing of DK Metcalf, giving them a receiving pair of Metcalf and George Pickens. If Rodgers were to join the Steelers, on paper at least the team would be very competent and may even have a chance at a Super Bowl run provided Rodgers can regain his previous form.

As for the Giants, there are not many positives as they are a rebuilding team in need of all the help they can get. Should he join them, the 4-time MVP winner will have the likes of Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton to throw to. The only real positive here seems to be the location as he would only be changing the color of his uniform without having to move an inch.
