Dean Wade Injury: Caves forward reportedly out for substantial period

Cleveland Cavaliers faced a major setback to their current roaster as their key forward Dean Wade is reportedly out for multiple weeks. The franchise issued a statement and confirmed that Wade will be out even longer due to knee injury.

Dean Wade has played a crucial part in Cavaliers’ success this season. The 28-year-old sustained a bone bruise in his right knee during the loss against the Philadelphia 76ers. Wade left the game midway through the second half.

Cleveland have announced that Wade’s current injury will require at least two weeks to recover. An MRI administered on Monday revealed a right knee bone bruise. He will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks, following a series of treatment and rehabilitation. His status and return to basketball activities will be updated as appropriate.

Following an injury against Philadelphia 76ers, Wade missed next two games against Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons. Caves lost against 76ers and the Rockets without the former Kansas State student. However, they snapped a three-game losing streak against the Pistons.

As per reports, Wade’s injury is not serious and he can make a comeback after All-Star weekend. He had a history of knee injuries and it impacted him at the end of last season as well. There is no long-term concern for the Cavaliers, who are leading the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, Cavaliers will struggle on the wing without Dean Wade and Isaac Okoro, who is dealing with a shoulder injury. The Caves are the frontrunner to secure the place in the playoffs and the team won’t risk their key assets. Caves will now prefer Max Strus in the starting lineup who can be effective in defensive role.
