Davante Adams Trade Rumors: Does Davante Adams have a no trade clause?

Ashwin Rawat

According to the latest NFL trade rumors, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has requested a trade. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Raiders have informed the other teams that they are open to trade the 6-time Pro Bowler. The trade deal would include a second round-draft pick and added compensation.

Surprisingly, the Las Vegas Raiders acquired Davante Adams in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers on march 18, 2022. The star wide receiver signed a five-year, $141.25 million deal with the Raiders that made him the highest-paid WR in the NFL at the time of signing. This deal also saw Adams reunited with his former Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr.

Does Davante Adams have a No Trade Clause?

No, Davante Adams does not have a No-Trade Clause in his contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. This implies that the Raiders can trade Davante Adams without needing his approval. However, given the current developments, it seems like the Raiders and Davante Adams might be in agreement regarding the speculated trade.

According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, “Adams has been considering a trade request out of Las Vegas for weeks. Adams is aware that his contract makes a trade possible, and he has a few preferred destinations if the Raiders decide to move him. The New York Jets are one of those teams.”

What is Davante Adams’ Contract with the Las Vegas Raiders?

Though Davante Adams signed a five-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, he is still in the third year of his $140 million deal. For the 2025 and 2026 season, Adams will carry a cap hit of $44.1 million with a base salary of $35.6 million. Interestingly, the final two years of the wide receiver’s contract are non-guaranteed, which might make his search for a new team easier than expected.
