FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is been making all the noise this summer. With the absence of Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo has speculated a move to play in the competition which commences in June.

Ronaldo, whose contract with Al-Nassr runs until June 2025, could bid farewell to the Saudi club following their failure to qualify for the 2025 Club World Cup.

The Portuguese great has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid over the past few months. Fans around the world will be eager to watch the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at the Club World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo Could Leave Through FIFA’s ‘Special’ Transfer Window

After joining Al-Nassr on a free transfer in June 2023, Ronaldo has scored 68 goals in the Saudi Pro League as of March 2024. With the club failing to qualify for the Club World Cup through any pathway, they may have to let the legend leave in June.

The transfer of Ronaldo could be made possible because of the special transfer window that will open in June. With FIFA allowing clubs participating in the Club World Cup to sign players during the 10-day course, Ronaldo’s chances of being back in the European league can open up.

Along with the special transfer window, clubs will also be allowed to sign a maximum of two players before the Club World Cup begins. Given how things are aligning, Ronaldo could also leave Al-Nassr as a free agent once his contract expires in June.

Ronaldo has won the Club World Cup four times in the past, lifting the trophy three times with Real Madrid. A return to the Spanish capital in June would be a story almost too good to be true.

Given the structure of his contract, Ronaldo’s future at Al-Nassr and in the Saudi Pro League will become clearer in the coming months. It will be interesting to see what lies ahead for the 40-year-old as he nears the end of his decorated career.
