Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid for One Last Dance? Rumors Surge Amid the Special Transfer Window

Cristiano Ronaldo has had a few talks about his renewal with Al-Nassr at the start of the year. However, with his deal expiring in June 2025, nothing official has been announced by either of the parties.

Since his exit in 2018, Ronaldo has never ruled out the possibility of returning to Real Madrid. With the revamped special Club World Cup window approaching, rumors have sparked about a one-last dance with the Los Blancos.

Ronaldo has talked about leaving the club because of wanting a “different stage” in 2018. Talking about it in the Marca interview, the Real Madrid great said:

“I wanted a different stage, my stage was closed. I wanted a different motivation. It didn’t wear me out, it was something I told the president, and he agreed that I could leave.

We were in a negotiation phase and he didn’t behave so well with me, I understand because he always does it like that and I couldn’t go back, because I gave my word to Juve and the president wanted to go back.”

What is Special Transfer Window?

In October 2024, FIFA announced that there will be “flexibility” in the 2025 summer transfer window for clubs participating in the Club World Cup. According to the statement, players whose contracts expire on June 30 will become free agents midway through the tournament.

Ronaldo Expressed His Desire To Return to Real Madrid

Real Madrid, a club already filled with superstars, could face an important decision if talks progress. Ronaldo has expressed his desire to return to Real Madrid at the end of his career. In the same interview, when asked about the possibility of a return, the Portuguese star said:

“One day maybe. I don’t rule it out. I left a legacy, a nice mark there. Maybe at the end of my career, we can do something cool, with 80,000 people.

It all seems like lining up in a manner if the 40-year-old looks for a new club this summer. The window is set to take place in the United States of America from June 15 to July 13.

Ronaldo played 438 appearances for Real Madrid and scored 450 goals during his time with the club. Eyeing to play the 2026 World Cup, going back to Spain could prove handy for gaining higher standards.
