Olympiacos striker Ayoub El Kaabi is the leading goalscorer in the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League with seven goals.
The UEFA Europa League round of 16 stage has been done and dusted and fans are eagerly waiting for the quarter-finals to begin. Teams, like Manchester United, Lyon, and Eintracht Frankfurt, dominated both legs to progress. Whereas, Rangers had to win on penalties to progress to the quarter-finals and the rest of the games turned out to be nail-biting thrillers.

The Europa League quarterfinals will be played over two legs, with the team scoring the most goals across both matches advancing to the semifinals. The semifinals will follow the same format, while the final will be a single-match showdown.

Bodo/Glimt took a 3-goal advantage in the first leg, which Olympiacos couldn’t overturn even though they won the second leg. The Norwegian club progressed by a 2-4 margin on aggregate.
On the other hand, the contest between Athletic Club and Roma turned out to be a close affair. Roma won the first leg narrowly by a 2-1 margin but Athletic Club scored three in the return leg to progress by a 4-3 margin on aggregate.
Meanwhile, Lazio edged past Viktoria Plzen in a hard-fought battle. Despite being reduced to 10 men, they secured a narrow win in the first leg. Holding onto their advantage, they managed a draw in the second leg, sealing a 3-2 aggregate win to advance.
Ajax dropped the ball when they lost 1-2 against Frankfurt at home. In the return leg, Frankfurt ran riot by scoring four more against Ajax’s one. They progressed comfortably by a 6-2 margin on aggregate.
Similar to Frankfurt, Lyon ran riot throughout both legs against the Romanian club FCSB, winning 1-3 in the first leg and then a 4-0 win in the second leg. Thus, progressing by a 7-1 margin on aggregate.
Tottenham Hotspur narrowly lost the first leg against Alkmaar. However, going into the second leg with a 1-goal deficit at home, they made the home advantage count to secure quarterfinal spot.
Rangers and Fenerbahce gave it all to tie 3-3 on aggregate at the end of two legs and the match had to be decided on penalties. Rangers won 3-2 on penalties to progress.
Man United were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg by Real Sociedad. However, the Spanish side dropped the ball big time in the second leg giving away two penalties and the Red Devils scoring two more. They comfortably progressed after that by a 5-2 margin on aggregate.
