Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre, Head-to-Head Before Their WWE Undisputed Match At SNME

One of the most compelling rivalries will add another chapter to it tonight when Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre face each other at SNME. The WWE Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes, will put his title on the line against Drew McIntyre in a match that will have a new set of rules. Cody Rhodes will lose his title not only following Drew McIntyre’s win, but also if he deliberately disqualifies himself.

The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre is not new. They have collided numerous times in their parallel careers. They were not always at each other’s throats; in fact, they were former tag team champions. So what is their head-to-head record against each other?

An Evenly Matched Feud Between Two Big Names of WWE

The head-to-head record between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre has been remarkably competitive. It is only recently that Cody Rhodes has dominated the results. The last and most significant match between the two took place at Wrestlepalooza, where Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre and retained his title. Drew McIntyre, however, pushed him to his limits during the match.

Another match between them took place a few weeks back on SmackDown. The match ended without a definitive winner when Drew McIntyre’s mind games frustrated Cody Rhodes, and the latter intentionally used his championship belt in desperation. The match ended in a DQ, but Cody Rhodes retained his title.

The outcome of the match fueled Drew McIntyre’s claim that Cody Rhodes is willing to cheat to retain his title. The match at SNME would be a rematch, but Drew McIntyre forced Nick Aldis and Cody Rhodes to change certain rules of the match. Cody Rhodes will lose his title if he gets disqualified or counted out. Drew McIntyre’s mind games have tilted the balance completely in his favor before their match at SNME.
