Cody Rhodes, the current WWE Undisputed Champion and the most genuine good guy of WWE, will face Scottish Psycopath, Drew McIntyre, in the main event of Wrestlepalooza. What’s at stake? It is the WWE Undisputed Championship. Cody Rhodes was the WWE Undisputed Champion up until WrestleMania, but lost the title to John Cena. He defeated John Cena at SummerSlam to win his title back.

Drew McIntyre has been eying a title opportunity for a long time. His last title reign ended in 5 minutes owing to a cash-in from Damian Priest. He lost the rematch for the title owing to interruptions from the Judgment Day. Drew McIntyre has been chasing one title after another ever since, but he could never win one again.

Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre, Match Preview

Drew McIntyre started his rivalry with Cody Rhodes after the latter won the WWE Undisputed Championship. He, along with Logan Paul, faced Cody Rhodes & John Cena in a tag team match, but the match ended in DQ when Logan Paul delivered a Low Blow to John Cena. Drew McIntyre also assaulted Cody Rhodes outside the arena and sent him packing through the announcer’s table with a Claymore.

Cody Rhodes was out of WWE owing to an injury, and Drew McIntyre was taking pleasure in it when Randy Orton delivered a vicious RKO to him. Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre then face each other on SmackDown. Randy Orton was about to win the match, but the referee stopped him from delivering a Punt Kick. Drew McIntyre got the opportunity to land the Claymore and score a victory.

Drew McIntyre was trying to do to Randy Orton what he did to Cody Rhodes, but Cody Rhodes returned to save him. He drove Drew McIntyre away, but not before announcing his match for Wrestlepalooza.

Chaos Erupts While Contract Signing Between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre

The contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre turned brutal when the latter delivered a Glasgow Kiss to Cody Rhodes. It started with a verbal banter, but soon became physical when a Glasgow Kiss from Drew McIntyre floored Cody Rhodes after they signed the contract. Drew McIntyre was about to give Cody Rhodes a deja vu, but stopped.

Drew McIntyre warned Cody Rhodes, stating, “I’m taking the one thing that means the most to you. He was leaving the arena when Cody Rhodes performed a Suicide Dive on him. The brawl erupted, and the officials tried but were unable to stop them from ripping each other apart, even after multiple attempts. Drew McIntyre delivered a big boot followed by a Stomp to the head of Cody Rhodes to end it.

Cody Rhodes is speculated to retain his title. There is no way that WWE would make him lose the title so soon, given that he is the face of the company. Drew McIntyre, however, might assault Cody Rhodes after the match to continue his rivalry with the American Nightmare.
