The Chinese Grand Pris 2025 results were full of ups and downs. The race, being a sprint weekend, featured action and drama throughout three days. On Saturday, it turned into a masterclass for Ferrari, whereas on Sunday, the Ferrari’s suffered their worst defeat in their history. The Chinese Grand Prix also marked the end of Liam Lawson’s Red Bull stint in 2025. In a similar fashion, it completely imbalanced the results in the F1 points standings. The two Racing Bulls who started within top-10 could not even compete for points during the race. On the other hand, Williams found themselves claiming a surprise double points finish due to disqualifications in the top-12 drivers. Haas F1 team was among the many teams who benefitted from these strange results.

Haas F1 was able to claim points with both cars in the top-10. However, the cherry on the cake for the team was the fact that these disqualifications helped them bag many points in one weekend. In total, Haas registered 14 points in the Chinese Grand Prix weekend after the latest results were announced. They are only three points behind their power unit suppliers, Ferrari.

Chinese Grand Prix 2025 Results Give Haas Hope for 2025

Haas F1 team changed their entire structure within the past few years. They have a new principal to lead them in F1. They have also partnered with Toyota Gazoo Racing. Haas are trying to change their fate in F1 before the arrival of Cadillac in 2026. The team also refreshed their driver lineup, introducing a rookie for the first time in three seasons. Haas entered the 2025 season with Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman to lead them. Their new driving lineup had the depth of a race winning driver and the raw talent of a rookie trained at Ferrari Driver Academy.

Haas showed signs of pace in the first race of the season. They had to encounter a setback with Oliver Bearman facing gearbox issues and constantly crashing in the practice sessions. However, the team bounced effectively in China. Ocon and Bearman had to stay satisfied with Q2 and Q3 exits respectively during the Qualifying session for the Chinese GP. The race was a different story altogether. Haas used the conditions effectively with a one-stop tyre strategy to compete with other teams on a two-stop strategy. Esteban Ocon stayed competitive in the top-10 even though he had pressure from the much faster cars.

Oliver Bearman was also able to showcase his talents throughout the race. He effectively manoeuvred from 17th on the grid to overtake the cars ahead of him. Bearman stayed steady on his pace and put himself into the top-10s. He also treated the viewers with some cheeky radio messages.

What Should Haas Look Forward To?

Haas should prioritise better qualifying runs now that their drivers have synergised themselves with the car. Esteban Ocon can easily try to compete against faster rivals with better strategy. Oliver Bearman will have to decrease the gap between him and his teammate. Bearman has all the pace required to work with the 2025 Haas car. Bearman also needs to work better during qualifying sessions to help his teammate Esteban Ocon gain a better advantage. The two Haas need to stick closer in order to defend each other’s race.

Haas will have to improve their results by a huge margin. They are the only American company on the grid currently. However, Cadillac’s arrival in 2026 could mean bad news for them. If they want to stay relevant in the game, they need to win at the lower levels until they can dream of competing at the top. Haas’s current results speak for themselves and give the team a lot of hope for 2025.
