Oliver Bearman Rejoices from Ferrari’s Despair in the Chinese Grand Prix

Oliver Bearman faced a shaky start to his rookie season in Formula 1. He was among the highly sought after drivers for the 2025 Formula 1 season. Bearman became a part of Formula 1 as early as 2024. He raced as a substitute for Carlos Sainz in one of the races in 2024 at Scuderia Ferrari. Bearman managed to claim points in his very first outing in a Formula 1 car. Bearman performed in clutch situations for Haas during the 2024 season. He has the unique achievement of achieving points in the first race for two different teams in the same season. Bearman’s past heroics earned him a full-time seat in the 2025 Formula 1 season with Haas.

Oliver Bearman is a driver from the Ferrari Driver Academy. Bearman is a reserve driver for Ferrari in Formula 1. He is on loan to Haas for the 2025 season as a full-time driver. Bearman benefitted from Haas’s partnership with Ferrari and his past performances in the scant races he participated in 2024. He had a rough start to the 2025 season. Bearman crashed out in the free practice sessions and faced a gearbox issue in qualifying. Additionally, he finished last in the Australian Grand Prix.

Oliver Bearman Claims First Points in the 2025 Season

Bearman was not ready to give up from the disappointments of the first race. He managed to turn things around during the Chinese Grand Prix. Throughout the weekend, Bearman was able to match the pace of his senior teammate, Esteban Ocon. He couldn’t qualify himself in a better position for the Chinese Grand Prix 2025 grid. Starting the race in 17th position on the grid, Bearman kept his race pace steady throughout the 56 laps. He managed to capitalise on the one-stop strategy used by Haas. Bearman started the race on harder tyres and switched to mediums on lap 26. Oliver Bearman used the faster medium tyres to spend the rest of the race chasing after his opponents.

He overtook drivers quite smoothly in the closing stages of the Grand Prix. While overtaking, Bearman also had a cheeky message for his fellow competitors. He bid the other drivers farewell by saying “Ciao” on the radio after overtaking them. Oliver Bearman’s performance paired with his humorous radio interaction earned him the praise of fans. He initially finished in tenth position. But following the disqualification of the two Ferraris ahead of him, Bearman was promoted to 8th. Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon claimed a 14-point haul for Haas at the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix.
