Friday Night SmackDown ended in complete pandemonium when Drew McIntyre was suspended indefinitely by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. Drew McIntyre attacked the referee, blaming him for being biased in his match against Cody Rhodes at SNME. He then teamed up with Aleister Black and attacked Cody Rhodes. Damian Priest rushed inside the ring to save the Champion.
Friday Night SmackDown featured a non-titular match between Cody Rhodes and Aleister Black (accompanied by Zelina Vega) as the main event. The match saw both of them pull their punches on one another. The match was nearing its climactic end when Drew McIntyre entered the ring and delivered a Claymore Kick to the referee. The match ended in a no-contest immediately.
Drew McIntyre, still irate over his loss against Cody Rhodes at SNME, was seen shouting at a floored referee for being biased. He then turned his attention towards Cody Rhodes. Aleister Black joined him, and both of them started a two-on-one assault on the champion. Cody Rhodes would have been in serious trouble had Damian Priest not rushed to help him.
Damian Priest, who already holds a personal vendetta against Aleister Black, didn’t hold back his punches. He took down both Drew McIntyre and Aleister Black before turning his attention towards the latter. Damian Priest and Cody Rhodes worked together to send Aleister Black and Drew McIntyre packing.
Zelina Vega held Damian Priest from behind, and the distraction allowed Aleister Black to hit Damian Priest in the already injured eye and run away for his life. Damian Priest was seen getting medical attention backstage.
The chaos brought the SmackDown GM, Nick Aldis, who immediately suspended Drew McIntyre indefinitely for his actions of attacking WWE officials. This decision made Drew McIntyre visibly furious as he was forced to leave the arena.
