Champions League Golden Boot Odds: Who Will Win the UCL 2024–25 Top Goalscorer’s Race?

Moumita Dutta

Raphinha and Guirassy Share the Top Scorer Spot but Can Others Catch Up As the Champions League Final Looms.

As the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League final approaches, the race for the Golden Boot is closing up. Barcelona’s Raphinha and Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy are tied at the top of the highest goalscorers’ list with 13 goals each. Raphinha’s individual performance has been stellar along with Guirassy who was also key for his team this season.

However, both players’ teams were eliminated. Hence, the final offers a slim chance for PSG and Inter Milan players to catch up. The final on Saturday presents the last opportunity for contenders, like Lautaro Martinez, Ousmane Dembele, and others to catch up however slim the chances may be.

Raphinha (Odds: 20/21)

Odds by Oddschecker.

Raphinha has been instrumental in Barcelona’s Champions League journey this campaign, netting 13 goals. This includes a hat-trick against Bayern Munich and more crucial goals in the knockout stages. Barcelona were eliminated in the semi-finals.

Even so,  Raphinha’s consistent performance has kept him at the forefront of the Golden Boot race.  With 9 assists, adding up to 22 goal contributions in 14 matches, Raphinha’s impact this season has been  undeniable.

Serhou Guirassy (Odds: 20/21)

Levelled with Raphinha, Serhou Guirassy also has scored 13 goals for Borussia Dortmund this season. This includes a memorable hat-trick against Barcelona. His efforts, however, couldn’t prevent Dortmund’s quarter-final exit. However, it’s a testament to Guirassy’s goal-scoring prowess that even though Dortmund were eliminated early, he still remains a strong contender for the Golden Boot.

Lautaro Martínez (Odds: 313/1)

Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martínez has scored 9 goals in the tournament. His team is still in the competition. Even so, he would need an extraordinary performance with at least 4-5 goals needed to be scored in the final to surpass Raphinha and Guirassy. Considering the strength of PSG’s defense, this seems extremely unlikely.

Marcus Thuram (Odds: 979/1)

Thuram has contributed to only 4 goals for Inter Milan. To claim the Golden Boot, he would need to score 9 goals in the final. This is a feat unprecedented in Champions League history.  While mathematically possible, it’s highly improbable.

Bradley Barcola (Odds: 979/1)

PSG’s Bradley Barcola has 3 goals to his name. To overtake the leaders, he would need to score 10 goals in the final. Given the rarity of such an achievement, Barcola’s chances are minimal, to say the least.

Who Will Win the UCL Golden Boot?

With both Raphinha and Guirassy tied at 13 goals and their teams eliminated, the Golden Boot race hinges on the final. Lautaro Martínez, with 9 goals, is the closest contender still in play.  However, needing at least 4 goals or more against PSG to reach the duo at the top, makes his task daunting. As it stands, in all probability, Raphinha and Guirassy are poised to share the Golden Boot honors this season.
