Buffalo Sabres bring up Isak Rosen and Brett Murray from AHL Rochester to bolster their roster amid lineup adjustments.
The Buffalo Sabres have called up forwards Isak Rosen and Brett Murray from the AHL’s Rochester Americans, adding reinforcements to their roster. This marks a particularly eventful stretch for Rosen, who was just sent back to the AHL three days ago after an initial recall due to illness issues within the Sabres lineup.
Rosen, a 2021 first-round pick (14th overall), made his NHL debut in November 2023 and has since appeared in 10 games across two seasons, including three this year. While he’s yet to register his first NHL point, he has been a consistent offensive presence in the AHL, tallying over 50 points in back-to-back seasons.

This year, he’s been especially productive, notching 27 goals and 24 assists in 52 games. However, despite his scoring ability in the minors, he’s struggled to establish himself at the NHL level, with underwhelming possession metrics indicating room for improvement.

Murray, on the other hand, is still waiting to make his first NHL appearance of the season. The 26-year-old forward has put together an impressive AHL campaign, posting 23 goals and 17 assists in 55 games. Originally drafted by Buffalo in the fourth round of the 2016 draft (99th overall), Murray has played 23 NHL games throughout his career, recording two goals and four assists while providing a physical presence on the ice.
The Sabres are set to face the Boston Bruins on Monday night as they continue their season. Unfortunately, with another playoff miss looming, Buffalo appears headed for its 14th straight year without a postseason appearance.
