Ten Hag’s New Era at 55: Fan Reactions to Leverkusen Move, per Romano

Bayer Leverkusen has taken steps to their new chapter following the news of Xabi Alonso’s departure. According to the latest report from Fabrizio Romano, Leverkusen has agreed terms with Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag on a two-year deal.

As Alonso is reported to take over Real Madrid before the Club World Cup, Ten Hag will be expected to be announced soon by LeverkusenThe former Manchester United manager has been inactive since October 2024 after serving for two and a half years.

What’s Next for Bayer Leverkusen with Ten Hag’s Arrival

Mentioning in his report, the famous journalist said Ajax is the competitor to secure Ten Hag. However, the 55-year-old is said to have said yes to the German side as the report says: “Erik ten Hag already said yes to Bayer Leverkusen on a two-year project. Final green light up to the club, they spoke to several candidates… but Erik ten Hag gives priority to Bayer, while Ajax keeps waiting for return in the background.”

With players like Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz speculated to leave this summer, Ten Hag might have no rest in the recruitment department. After a sequence of failed signings at Manchester United, the Dutchman will be under huge pressure to fill in the voids that will be left at Leverkusen.

Fans have had mixed reactions to the report of Leverkusen signing Ten Hag. The records at Manchester United fail to speak for his case. However, some also suggest that Ten Hag has improved his managing prowess and could be a good move for Leverkusen.
