The Catalan giants will be starting the 2025-26 season against Mallorca in the La Liga on 16th August. Hansi Flick and his squad are ready to tackle the new season from the same place they left off it seems with a dominant win in the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Como.
Barcelona had one of their best seasons in the recent few years last term. They only failed to win the UCL in which they reached the semi-finals. The domestic treble of La Liga, Supercopa De Espana and Copa del Rey reignited their status as one of Europe’s elites that oppositions fear.

Barcelona are having a rather exciting transfer season in 2025. La Blaugrana suffered in the goalkeeping department for some seasons with Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s injuries flaring up now and then. Hence, the arrival of a new goalkeeper, Joan Garcia, from Espanyol, has fans elated.
The Blaugrana managed to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on loan. Swedish forward Roony Bardghji was also signed from Copenhagen. However, similar to last season, the issue with registration still looms large and it has to be seen how Barca deal with it.

Departures from the club so far include Pau Victor to SC Braga, Alex Valle to Como, Pablo Torre to Mallorca, Clement Lenglet to Atletico Madrid and Ansu Fati to Monaco. With Barcelona being largely dependent on their academy, multiple new La Masia faces on the first team can be expected, just like last season.
Barcelona will start their 2025/26 campaign with all guns blazing, picking up where they left on in the 2024-25 season. It seems they have already started on it with a 5-0 win against Como to win the Joan Gamper Trophy. Hansi Flick, in his first ever season at Barca, had proven himself to be extremely effective.

With his tactical mindset and high-line offside-trap coupled with deadly counterattacks, Flick was the mastermind for Barcelona’s success. Stars like Raphinha and the young Lamine Yamal look sharp as ever. The midfield is also stacked with talent, especially the likes of Pedri and De Jong.
Flick will be eyeing a way to use his offside trap more effectively with his talented backline. The signings of Rashford and Bardghji will provide crucial depth and backup on the frontline. Overall, Flick’s men look set to defend all their titles yet again this season while chasing the ultimate prize – the Champions League – after more than a decade since the club last won it.
