The Atlanta Falcons wrapped up their 2025 NFL season with an 8-9 record, finishing third in the NFC South amid a tightly contested division where Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Atlanta all ended 8-9. Under head coach Raheem Morris (now fired and replaced by Kevin Stefanski), the team showed flashes of promise but struggled with consistency, scoring 353 points ranking 24th in NFL while allowing 401, 23.6 points per game.
Eliminated from playoff contention after a Week 14 loss to eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle, they extended their postseason drought to seven years. Despite team-wide mediocrity, standout performances, particularly from RB Bijan Robinson, provided bright spots in otherwise a frustrating end to their season.

Understanding how to bet on NFL games is crucial for maximizing the value of our expert picks and making informed wagers each week.
The Atlanta Falcons face a balanced yet challenging 2026 schedule, even though their schedule ranked sits at 28th easiest (.465 opponent win percentage). Home slate offers edges: winnable divisional tilts vs. 8-9 Carolina/Tampa, weak 6-11 Saints, Bengals (struggles with consistency), Chiefs (no Patrick Mahomes possibly), plus .500 Baltimore, but tough tests against 11-6 Chicago, 9-8 Detroit, and elite 12-5 San Francisco looms large.
Eight road games includes some mixed opportunities going against Cleveland and Washington which should be some of the more winnable games on their schedule. While games on the road against Green Bay, Minnesota, and Pittsburgh should prove to be tough. The Falcons will be playing all the teams from AFC North and NFC North which could amplify their competition, yet the overall slate favors sub -.500 opponents at home, setting up potential improvement if Atlanta capitalizes on favorable venues and avoids road pitfalls.
The Falcons should improve to 9-8 again or 10-7 in 2026, positioning for a Wild Card spot amid an NFC South scramble. Bijan Robinson’s elite dual-threat ability (top-tier rushing/receiving) powers a balanced offense, with Michael Penix jr. possibly returning in Week one of 2026-27 campaign. Their defense was already making noise ranking 15th, but still needs some improvement going forward, exploiting turnover-prone teams like the Bengals and Chiefs.
Home record projects strong (6-3 or better) against a softer slate. including a potential sweep over weak divisional foes and wins vs. Bengals, Chiefs, Ravens. Road splits against their divisional opponents and Brown/Commanders are winnable games for them, but again, the Falcons blew many games that they were favorites against last season.
If Bijan Robinson continues to grow and Penix improves on his consistency, while the franchise adds some more defensive/offensive pieces in this offseason, the Falcons can possibly win many games next season. However, that is still a big ask for a grok that have been dysfunctional for some time.
Our Prediction: Falcons make the 2026-27 NFL Playoffs.
The Atlanta Falcons’ odds to win Super Bowl LXI sits at +6600 currently, as per BetMGM, making them a longshot at 22nd favorite to win it all.
This doesn’t come as a surprise as the Falcons struggle with consistency, performing stellar in one game and lackluster in another. We do not know what the Falcons will do when they come into the game as they can blow teams out one week and lose by +15/20 points in another. The Falcons ranked 19th in the league in passing offense last season, scoring only 19 passing TDs. Similarly, the rank high in rushing offense at 8th (led by Robinson), but struggled to put up enough TDs with 19. Overall, they ranked amongst bottom teams at 24th, averaging only 20.8 points per game, which was one of the key reasons they couldn’t close out games last year.
They are, in our opinion, still years away from contending for the Super Bowl title as they have many areas they need to fix before can start considering them as a serious threat in the NFC, yet alone the entire league.

The Falcons are currently +2800 currently, as per BetMGM, making them the 12th favorites to win their conference at NFC.
When we take a look at the NFC, there are multiple teams in the conference that are currently constructed better or way better than the Falcons. Atlanta, despite Penix Jr.’s upside, still lacks consistent QB play and struggle with their passing game. On defense, the Falcons heavily struggle against the run and are not great at scoring defense either, ranking 19th allowing 23.6 points per game, which is more than how much they can score themselves at only 20.8. Fixing these issues could result in a better record overall, but how and if they can fix those problems, is still a question.
NFC as a whole is arguably harder to win in, with multiple teams that are title contenders, compared to the AFC. Looking at this, we believe the Falcons are still far off from competing for the NFC title and the +2800 odds accurately reflect what we can expect from them next season.
The odds to win the NFC South division for the Atlanta Falcons is set at +375, giving them the third best odds to win their division, as per BetMGM. These odds place them in front of the Panthers (+380), but are behind the favorites (+125) Buccaneers, and the Saints (+360).
While they are third favorites at NFC South to win the division, we believe the Falcons will probably be the second seed in their division next season. They Falcons were tied with the Buccaneers and the Panthers with a 9-8 record last season, keeping in mind that their QB1 Michael Penix Jr. was hurt in Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season, suffering a season-ending torn ACL. While he didn’t have the best of season last year, we believe that a fully healthy Atlanta squad can take advantage of a division that doesn’t have a clear frontrunner in our eyes. The Buccaneers struggled with injuries all season long in 2025-26, making them unpredictable and unreliable moving forward, the Panthers did make the playoffs and showed improvements but just barely made the playoffs because of a better head-to-head record in a three-way tie breaker. While the Saints are still rebuilding. The uncertainly aspect at NFC South makes us believe that the Falcons can finish anywhere from 1st all the way down to 3rd or even 4th. But looking at their 28th ranked strength of schedule, we expect Atlanta to do reasonably well next campaign, especially now that they had a new head coach in Kevin Stefanski and a new general manager in Ian Cunningham.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
