How Many UCL Finals Have Arsenal Played?

Arsenal have reached the UEFA Champions League final once in their history. In the 2005–06 season, under the guidance of Arsene Wenger, the Gunners advanced to the final. That season, they also defeated Real Madrid, along with others, like Juventus and Villarreal in the knockout stages to reach the final.

The final, held at the Stade de France in Paris, saw Arsenal take an early lead through Sol Campbell. However, after goalkeeper Jens Lehmann was sent off, Barcelona mounted a comeback. With goals from Samuel Eto’o and Juliano Belletti, Barcelona sealed a 2–1 victory for the Spanish side.

Beyond this, Arsenal have reached the semi-finals on two other occasions. First instance was back in the 2008–09 season, where they were eliminated by Manchester United. The second instance is the current one in the UCL 2024–25 campaign which marks their third appearance at this stage.

How Many UCL Finals Have PSG Played?

Similar to the Gunners, Paris Saint-Germain have also made only one appearance in the UEFA Champions League final. In the 2019–20 season, PSG advanced to the final after overcoming Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta, and RB Leipzig. The final which was played in Lisbon due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ended in PSG’s narrow 1–0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

To add more to their woes, former PSG player Kingsley Coman scored the decisive goal. PSG have reached the semi-finals five times: in 1994–95, 2019–20, 2020–21, 2023–24, and the ongoing 2024–25 season. Despite significant investment and domestic success, the club continues to seek its first Champions League title.
