Rublev has won the last two matches against Mannarino
After another day of high quality entertainment of grass-court tennis, we now begin with the first day of round three matches at Wimbledon 2025. The 14th seed, Andrey Rublev, will take to the No. 3 court for his match against Adrian Mannarino, with the winner facing a potential round 4 clash with defending Champion Carlos Alcaraz.
Rublev has made his way to the third round after a couple of four-set wins over Laslo Djere and Lloyd Harris respectively. While the Russian hasn’t been in the best of form, he has played well enough to take confidence into today’s match.
Rublev did very well to counter the powerful serves of Lloyd in the last match. Despite hitting 25 aces, the South African was unable to break Rublev’s game, who came to the net 26 times and won the point on 23 occasions.

Heading into Wimbledon, Frenchman Adrian Mannarino has played quite a few matches on grass. As a qualifier, Mannarino has already played five matches at SW19 this year, but today’s match will be the toughest test so far.
Mannarino overcame fellow countryman Valentin Royer in the second round with a four-set victory. He served 18 aces and had just 32 unforced errors in comparison to Royer, who had 47, which is where the match saw the biggest difference. However, his first serve percentage was only 60%.
Rublev and Mannarino have faced off against one another four times before their clash today. The Russian holds a 3-1 lead in the head-to-head rivalry, which started in 2019 in Moscow.
However, the pair have contested all four matches on hard courts, and today’s encounter at Wimbledon will be their first on grass. Rublev has won the last two times they have played.

Rublev will be seen as the favorite heading into this match, but that is not to say that Mannarino can’t pull off an upset. The Russian has played a consistent brand of tennis, and his ability to win points at the net could be crucial yet again. He will have to continue moving well on the court, especially against the slice backhand, which the Frenchman possesses.
As for Mannarino, this will be a big test for him, and he will have to improve his first serve percentage against a player of Rublev’s quality. He will also need to be more clinical when break point chances come his way. In his last match, he was able to break only twice from 11 opportunities, and that won’t cut it against the Russian.
