Chelsea have taken a significant step towards signing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, with the Argentine star agreeing personal terms ahead of a potential move to Stamford Bridge. The 21-year-old has been linked with a summer exit from Old Trafford for months. However, Garnacho has made it clear that Chelsea is his preferred and only destination.
Garnacho has turned down approaches from Italy, Germany, and even a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, prioritising a switch to West London. In the 2024/2025 season, the highly-rated winger scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in the Premier League in 36 appearances.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks between Chelsea and Manchester United are ongoing, although the two clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee. United are reportedly holding out for £50 million, while the Blues are looking to negotiate the price down. The breakthrough on personal terms means the deal now hinges solely on the two clubs finding common ground.

United manager Ruben Amorim has already made it clear that Garnacho is not a part of his long-term plans following a breakdown in their relationship. The fallout began after a public dispute regarding Garnacho’s lack of playing time in the Europa League final.
Manchester United’s summer overhaul is well underway, with the club close to finalising the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig and having already brought in Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have already secured eight signings this summer namely Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Estevao, Dario Essugo, Kendry Paez and Mamadou Sarr. But their summer transfer activity is far from over. The Blues are now pushing for Garnacho and are also rumoured to be targeting RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons before the transfer window closes.
