A Look At Brock Lesnar’s Best UFC Moments After Return To WWE Summerslam!

Zaid Quraishi

From thunderous finishes to title triumphs, we relive Brock Lesnar’s most iconic UFC highlights following his latest WWE comeback!

Everyone knows who Brock Lesnar is. When he made his shocking return to WWE at SummerSlam recently, it felt like watching a wild animal come back to its natural habitat. He traversed the WWE world as well as the UFC, conquering both. ‘The Beast Incarnate’s’ UFC journey was a proving ground that transformed him from sports entertainment spectacle into legitimate combat sports royalty. Lesnar’s transition from WWE to UFC raised plenty of eyebrows back in 2008. Critics wondered if the former college wrestling champion could handle real fights against seasoned MMA fighters. Some called it a publicity stunt, others questioned his commitment to the sport.

But Lesnar shut up the doubters pretty quickly, proving that his freakish athleticism and competitive fire translated perfectly to the octagon. His UFC run produced some of the most memorable moments in heavyweight division history. He showcased a rare blend of raw power, surprising agility, and that trademark Lesnar intensity that made him must see television. Here, we have collected a list of the best Brock Lesnar moments in the UFC.

Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir 2: Revenge

Frank Mir had embarrassed Lesnar in his UFC debut, catching him in a heel hook submission that left the wrestling standout tapping out. That loss stung badly, and Lesnar carried that chip on his shoulder for over a year. When they finally met again at UFC 100, the champion was ready to settle the score.

This rematch looked completely different from their first encounter. Lesnar controlled Mir from the opening bell. He used his wrestling base to keep the dangerous submission artist pinned against the canvas. The punishment he dished out was methodical and relentless. Heavy elbows and punches rained down on Mir throughout the first round, and the second round brought more of the same. When the referee finally stopped the beating, Lesnar had his revenge and retained his championship belt.

Defeating Randy Couture For UFC Heavyweight Title

Nothing announced Lesnar’s arrival quite like his title fight against Randy Couture at UFC 91. ‘The Natural’ was a respected veteran with decades of combat experience. Lesnar was still the new kid with only three professional fights under his belt. Most experts gave the challenger little chance against such a seasoned champion.

Lesnar had other plans entirely. He stuffed Couture’s takedown attempts, keeping the action standing where his size advantage became crystal clear. When he finally hurt the champion with heavy punches, Lesnar pounced. The ground and pound that followed was absolutely brutal, forcing the referee to stop the carnage. Just like that, Brock Lesnar became the UFC heavyweight champion in his fourth professional fight!

Surviving Shane Carwin’s Early Assault

The Shane Carwin fight showcased everything great about Brock Lesnar as a competitor. Carwin was an absolute monster who had finished every single opponent. And he came dangerously close to adding Lesnar to that list. The interim champion caught Lesnar early with devastating punches that had him covering up on the canvas.

For several terrifying minutes, it looked like Lesnar’s championship reign was over. Carwin unleashed everything he had, landing bomb after bomb while Lesnar could only turtle up and hope to survive. But he did, showing incredible heart and toughness. When Carwin gassed himself out in the second round, Lesnar took over completely. He secured a takedown and methodically worked his way into an arm triangle choke, forcing the exhausted challenger to tap out.

The Heated Confrontation with Daniel Cormier

At UFC 226, Lesnar shoved Daniel Cormier after DC’s knockout victory over Stipe Miocic. The incident perfectly captured Lesnar’s ability to create chaos wherever he went. Cormier had just claimed the heavyweight title with a stunning first round knockout, and Joe Rogan was conducting the post-fight interview. He called out Lesnar and Lesnar obliged.

Lesnar pushed DC in the Octagon and the crowd went absolutely wild as security scrambled to restore order. Dana White later revealed this was completely unscripted, making it even more authentic!

A Statement Fight Against Heath Herring

After his debut loss to Frank Mir, Lesnar needed to prove he belonged in the octagon. Heath Herring provided the perfect opportunity. He was a tough veteran who could expose any remaining weaknesses in Lesnar’s game. The fight started with perhaps the most memorable punch of Lesnar’s entire UFC career.

Lesnar uncorked a picture perfect right hand that sent Herring rolling across the canvas. The crowd erupted as Lesnar charged forward, looking to finish the stunned veteran immediately. Though Herring managed to survive that early scare, Lesnar controlled him for the rest of the fight with superior wrestling and ground control. The unanimous decision victory proved that Lesnar’s debut loss was just a learning experience.

Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir 1: Debut That Started It All

Even though Lesnar lost his UFC debut, the performance revealed his tremendous potential. Facing a former champion in his first professional fight takes serious courage. He immediately took Mir down and began landing heavy ground strikes that had the jiu-jitsu expert in serious trouble.

Unfortunately for Lesnar, inexperience proved costly when referee Steve Mazzagatti took away a point for strikes to the back of the head. The restart gave Mir a fresh opportunity, and the crafty veteran made the most of it. When Lesnar dropped him with a big right hand and rushed in for the finish, Mir caught him in a heel hook submission. The loss was painful, but it taught Lesnar valuable lessons about respecting his opponents’ dangerous skills.
