Best Bet #1 – Brandon Moreno vs. Lone’er Kavanagh: Moreno by Decision

Pick: Moreno by Decision (+185) at BetMGM

Brandon Moreno faces Lone’er Kavanagh in the UFC Mexico main event. Moreno enters as a -210 favorite, while Kavanagh is priced at +176 heading into this pivotal five-round flyweight clash.

Kavanagh is a legitimate prospect and he does carry real physical tools. At 26 years old and 9-1, he lands 4.29 significant strikes per minute at 49% accuracy and boasts an elite 88% takedown defense. On paper, he can compete everywhere. But this is a mountain to climb for a fighter still finding his footing at the highest level, facing a two-time former champion in front of a sold-out home crowd.

Moreno’s path to victory is straightforward. His layered pressure game, volume striking, and wrestling threat give him multiple ways to bank rounds. This is a five-round main event, and Moreno’s championship-level pacing and durability become massive advantages as the rounds pile up.

The decision method at +185 offers real plus-money value. Moreno’s recent form is a concern after the TKO loss to Tatsuro Taira at UFC 323, but Taira is arguably one of the best flyweights on the planet right now. Stepping back in on home soil against an unranked replacement opponent is exactly the kind of bounce-back spot that suits Moreno’s skill set.

Best Bet #2 – Marlon Vera vs. David Martinez: Martinez by Decision

Pick: Martinez by Decision (-175) at FanDuel

Marlon Vera faces David Martinez in a co-main event bantamweight clash. Martinez enters as a firm -300 favorite, while Vera is a significant underdog at +245 coming off three straight losses.

Martinez (13-1) is not just a finisher. He’s a complete fighter who grinds opponents down with relentless pressure and a high-volume striking output of nearly 5 significant strikes landed per minute. His game plan against Vera doesn’t require a knockout; it requires controlling the pace, winning exchanges, and banking rounds on the scorecards. That’s exactly the path he’s most likely to take.

Vera, meanwhile, has absorbed 5.37 significant strikes per minute in his UFC career and has gone 1-4 in his last five. His toughness and durability remain real, which is precisely why the decision is the most likely outcome here. Back Martinez to outpoint Vera across three rounds at -175, a price that reflects strong favoritism but still offers clear value given the matchup dynamics.

Best Bet #3 – Daniel Zellhuber vs. King Green: Over 2.5 Rounds

Pick: Zellhuber vs Green Over 2.5 Rounds (-128) at FanDuel

Daniel Zellhuber faces King Green in a lightweight clash where the 26 year old Mexican prospect returns to home soil desperate to snap a two-fight losing streak. Zellhuber enters as a massive -500 favorite in this fight.

Green is 39 years old and not the fighter he once was, but he brings a sharp, defensive, counter-punching style that plays perfectly against Zellhuber’s kicking-heavy offense. Zellhuber thrives from distance and has no real incentive to press forward and brawl, which means Green won’t have to close much distance to negate Zellhuber’s power shots. Expect both fighters to be measured and cautious early, with neither looking to open up and get finished.

The -128 price on the over is affordable for a fight where the structural matchup points toward a longer fight. Zellhuber wins, but he wins on the scorecards.

Value Play – Santiago Luna vs. Angel Pacheco: Luna Moneyline

Pick: Luna ML (-590) at FanDuel

Santiago Luna faces Angel Pacheco in a lightweight bout where the books have made their position crystal clear. Luna is installed as a massive –590 favorite. The finish market is equally one-sided, with the fight not going the distance sitting at -430.

There isn’t much value at -590, but Luna seems to be the safest favorite on the card. His KO/TKO method at +145 is where the real value lies if you want to isolate the market. Luna has two finish paths on the board at competitive prices given his overwhelming favoritism. Use Luna as a parlay builder rather than a standalone play if the juice feels too steep.

How We Are Betting On UFC Mexico

  • The Zellhuber vs. Green lightweight bout has “go the distance” written all over it. Both books expect the fight not to go the distance, but the structural matchup favors a decision
  • Avoid overreacting to Moreno’s TKO loss against Taira. Taira is elite, and Moreno fighting on home soil in a five-rounder against an unranked fighter is a completely different proposition.
  • The Martinez decision at -175 is a pretty solid bet. His finishing profile and home advantage may seem to be pointing to a KO/TKO victory but Vera’s defense and chin still are elite.
