Lewis Hamilton rejects Fred Vasseur replacement rumors from Ferrari!
The 2025 Formula 1 championship is starting to play out quite differently for many teams. There were many changes to teams performance and driver pairings. Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton were the biggest the surprise for the upcoming season. But, contrary to their hopes, their 2025 season is less than ideal.
The current season has put Ferrari on the backfoot once again compared to its rivals. They were absolutely flying in the 2024 season with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz winning races and podiums. In 2025, they are no longer a front runner team. To top it off, Lewis Hamilton is struggling evidently to adapt to their car and team dynamics. As such, there were rumors about Ferrari replacing their team principal once again. While Ferrari has promptly denied the claims, Lewis Hamilton went a step further to establish his confidence in Fred Vasseur.
Lewis Hamilton is the epicenter of all news regarding Ferrari currently. The Tifosi and media are waiting for his comeback to the team. Hamilton is not supportive of a leadership change in Ferrari. The seven-time champion is inclined toward working with Fred Vasseur.
“We’re working hard in the background, things aren’t perfect but, for me, I’m here to work with the team but also with Fred – I want Fred here. I do believe Fred is the person to take us to the top, so that’s that. So it’s all nonsense.”
“Most people don’t know what’s going on in the background. It isn’t all easy, it’s not like it’s all the smoothest sailing in the background – we are having to make changes and there is a lot of work to do, and there is naturally a lot of pressure because we want to win, but that’s not any part of the discussion at moment.”

There were also questions about Hamilton retiring from Formula 1 soon. Hamilton has dismissed any such rumors calling it excessive. He has reiterated his decision to stay with the team. Lewis Hamilton was rather relieved after the Spanish GP. Both Ferrari are suffering from the same issue which means they can try to find a solution using data from Leclerc’s SF25.
Nevertheless, the struggles of Ferrari in 2025 and their challenges every race weekend are a huge deterrent. The Maranello outfit will have to work overtime if they want to win any races this season. Their current pace definitely doesn’t reflect any positive news for them in the world championship.
nhl I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
