Ferrari confirms Fred Vasseur's stay in the team

Some days ago, the Formula 1 paddock was in a shock. There was rampant rumor in the paddock concerning two top teams. Ferrari were supposedly pursuing Christian Horner. However, the Red Bull Racing boss denied instantly claiming it was merely a false alarm.

Since then, the fans have been in doubt regarding Ferrari’s intentions. Fred Vasseur is doing his best to keep the team intact and get rid of their issues. While Ferrari are improving, their star performer is still miles away from his caliber. Vasseur or Ferrari were silent regarding these rumors and did not provide any feedback regarding his removal. Ferrari had brought in Fred Vasseur in 2023 and he immediately led the team to a great finish in 2024. But, Ferrari seem to have broken their vow of silence finally regarding their team principal.

Ferrari Denies Rumors of Fred Vasseur Getting Sacked

In a recent report, Ferrari was approached regarding the situation within their team. There were talks about Antonello Colleta taking the reigns of the team. Colleta leads Ferrari’s World Endurance Championship. He has been pretty successful in the past few years to say nonetheless.

However, Ferrari do not intend to replace Fred Vasseur with any other team principal. The team went on to declare the rumors as a “fantasy”. Christian Horner himself called this arrangement as an outrageous situation which would never come true. If we talk about the 2025 Formula 1 season, Ferrari have come a long way in the past nine races.

They were definitely on another level in the previous season. But, they are surely improving in the 2025 championship. Charles Leclerc is their lead driver in the current season. He has managed to secure the team three podiums in the last few races. Lewis Hamilton is evidently struggling compared to his teammate. Although, he is working well with the team to get the best results in every Grand Prix.

The team efforts have helped Ferrari jump from fourth to second in the constructor standings. A change in leadership is very unlikely. It will also lead to negative effects as both drivers will need to adapt to the new team principal.
